Comments about REI Merino Wool Mini Crew Light Hiking Socks - Women's:
Wore these socks on a 8 mile hike. Regulated temperature very well. Feet never felt to warm or to cold, just right. Also wicked away moisture. Very comfortable fit and didn't feel as though they were to lightweight for a longer hike. Great merino socks for a cheaper price than other brands.

I wear these winter and summer. They're great alone inside on cold days instead of slippers. My feet have always perspired but these remedy that.

I finally upgraded from normal cotton socks a few months ago and am so glad I did. No sense in spending the extra money on the more expensive brand; the REI brand will do the trick! Comfy and you can wear them every day if you like. I generally reserve them for hiking but as the weather gets cooler, I will be wearing them to work and around the house more often than not.

Comments about REI Merino Wool Mini Crew Light Hiking Socks - Women's:
I wore these on a 6 mile hike, mildly difficult. My feet didn't stay dry and it got very uncomfortable. I would wear these around camp and for sleeping, but definitely not for a long weekend of backpacking.

I wore these socks (my favoriet socks) on my recent adventure to climb Half Dome. Didn't make the dome, had to turn around because my boots were falling apart, but that's another review for another time. Had no choice but to hike 5 miles back to camp in just my socks. I thought for sure I'd have to sacrifice them to the sock gods... guess what! No holes, no thin spots and THEY ARE STILL LIKE NEW! Thanks REI for making a durable sock. I highly recommend these without reservation. :)

Great pair of socks. Used them for backpacking and didn't develop a single blister - sweet success!

Comments about REI Merino Wool Mini Crew Light Hiking Socks - Women's:
I got my first REI socks when I was in Peace Corps. I used them very hard over the course of several years, day-in-day-out during the winters. Hiking, daily use, around the house, you name it. They've remained warm, comfortable, retained their shape and just become and stayed my favorite over the years.
I now have both brown and blue pairs. I prefer the blue as they're prettier around the house--to me. I have large calves and hate tight crew socks, and although these are short-ish socks (but above the ankles, no fear), they are WARM. I absolutely love them, as I get cold feet every winter, and I wear them to bed too. These are my absolute favorite socks--and as I buy more, probably my only winter socks.

Comments about REI Merino Wool Mini Crew Light Hiking Socks - Women's:
The heal to toe part was a bit long for me. I think my feet are of normal size, but it just didn't fit properly. When I put my fit-flop boots on (they are kind of like ug boots), they bunched up a bit so I am going to need to send them back.
They are soft and comfy, so they were worth a try, but the fit just isn't perfect. But someone else's feet might be more lucky. :)

Comments about REI Merino Wool Mini Crew Light Hiking Socks - Women's:
I wear these socks almost everyday in the winter months and on hikes but they pill very quickly and get loose pretty quickly as well. They are great at keeping your feet warm but I have gone through multiple pairs already in a few months. If you are a person that gets itchy from wool don't worry about these socks, they feel like fleece on the inside!

Comments about REI Merino Wool Mini Crew Light Hiking Socks - Women's:
I have used these while hiking, and they worked great! I have other types of wool hiking socks, but these are my favorite by far. They keep your feet warm when its cold, and your feet stay dry. They have just enough cushion, to where they feel nice but aren't too bulky.
