    I love this boot. It has basically become my winter/bad weather boot. Its great for hiking for the day and shoveling snow. Great traction - can pull kids in the sled all winter long. The boots have held up great. I've been a big fan of Merrells (have had other Merrell boots and sandals). The one negative was the ankle didn't fit right - the boot seemed to come up too high on the ankle and bothered me (I didn't realize it until I the day after I had worn the boot for an entire day and my ankle bothered me). I got an insert (one of those gel inserts for the ankle) and it was perfect - so it softens heel and raises the heel just enough to make the boot perfect. I can wear it day in and day out now and it hasn't bothered me. Overall a great boot. Just make sure you get the fit right.

      Good all purpose boots. Round up when you order, as the larger size certainly fits us inbetween sizers better.
      I have used these and stayed dry (so far ) in waterlogged fields, where others with normal leather boots were soaked. I have also used these in western mountains, where the traction was more essential than the waterproofing. There was a very short break-in period, and no blisters so far after quite a bit of use in warm weather.
      Along with SmartWool socks, these boots are the best casual (no heavy duty) hiking boots I have owned.

      i will be buying my 4th pair in 2 years this week. i paint houses for a living and these boots are like walking on clouds. ladders, scaffolding, rocks, dirt you name it. at the max i've gotten 6-7 months on one pair wearing them 12 hours a day. they truly die hard. i've also worn them 14 hours a day plus camping in kings canyon. i recommend these to anyone, especially someone with back problems which i have. thank you for a great product. well worth the price tag.

      Not waterproof at all! I'm on my second pair of this model- they are extremely comfortable, and fit perfectly, but I miss the discontinued Goretex mid height hikers, which did not leak at all.
      I blow out the toe box on all my Merrells- all six pairs have died this way, but I do put a lot of miles on them.

          This is my first good quality boot. I tried on dozens and when I put this one on I knew this was it. It felt so comfortable right away I was actually excited about getting them out on the trail. Next day we took a 6 mile hike that was very rocky. The feel of the boots and the grip held up the entire hike. Even after the hike they were so comfortable we went to lunch and i kept them on.

          No blisters or tender spots at all. Can't say enough about how happy I am with these!
