by fromI can't believe people like this thing! The belt clip part of this absolutely does not work. The weight of the filled (or even partially filled) bottle causes the bottle to separate from the drinking trough which then pulls the whole thing off of the belt, belt loop, pocket, or what have you. If the bottle locked into the trough it would probably be fine, but it doesn't. On the other hand it worked fine and was pretty much leak free when I carried it in my hand.

by fromNot very durable This item is such a good idea. And it is well-enough designed for daily use. But I was shocked when the plastic shattered around the pivot point - the first time I ever dropped it. This is an item that needs to be durable - needed to be accessed several times per walk on a hot day. These things will drop sometimes, and they may have some water in then when it occurs. To break apart after one drop will make me look for a better designed water supply for my dog.

by fromLeaks and poor design -The container leaks water unless you hold upright or flat. -Due to leak issue cannot care in backpack. -The belt clip holder is a poor design and only other option is to hand carry. -Once water leaves the container, unable to funnel back into bottle without additional container. At the San Diego fair, I purchased a bottle the preserve unused water, which is valuable resource on a long hike..

by fromfolding bowl is brittle I have had two of these, on the first the folding plastic bowl quickly cracked when carried in a mountain bike water bottle holder because the folding bowl was squeezed against the slightly larger diameter bottle. The second was dropped from waist height to the ground when filled with water and the folding bowl broke into three pieces - it was brand new and the weather was warm. The plastic bowl is made from very poor quality plastic. There is no excuse for this.

by fromPoor design of the bowl... too brittle. Bought at a local REI, took it home, dog loved it. Took it out on the trail and it broke the first time we pulled it out. Flipped the bowl out and leaned down so it was about a foot off the ground and it slipped out of my hand and shattered. Great idea... and the valve system is much better than other brands... BUT the bowl needs to be made of semi-pliable silicon or even the same sort of plastic as the bottle, NOT the hard brittle stuff it is made of. For a product that is advertised for use in hiking... it is NOT durable. Until they fix the design of the bowl... I WILL NOT recommend this product to a friend or even a casual acquaintance. lol

by fromGREAT UNTIL YOU DROP IT. I liked it because it seemed to work just fine. One of the nicest I have tried (I have bought a lot of different ones) I had it for a few weeks until I dropped it and the part that is attached to the lid broke off and it can't be fixed I tried to super glued it but it won't work. I wish the plastic would more pliable so it would not break as easily. I'm starting over and looking for the perfect one again.

by fromDon't drop it Like the others who reviewed this poorly, don't even think of dropping this. It's such a great product except the "dish" is made of a very unforgiving plastic that will shatter at the hinge rendering it worthless. Anything from a fall to get knocked around in a trunk will kill it.

by fromFragile This is great until it breaks. If there's water in it, dropping it a foot or two is all it takes. Dogs tussling over who gets to drink first will do it as well if it's open. We had two and they were both broken within a month of purchase. I like the idea, but won't buy one again until the design is improved.
