Comments about Thule Revolver 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
Solid Rack. More than three bikes can be tough. The swing away lock nut, while very secure, is slow to unscrew and could be designed better. The spring pin could also be strengthened. The lock cable retainer could be designed for long term use since without it the cable will drag on the ground while the rack is in the stowed position.
This is a solid rack. It is quick to load with one or two bikes. Beyond that it requires a little time. The design seems rushed with some shortcuts that for the price are unreasonable. Although, you will find identical problems on the yakima solution.
I would and have recommended this rack to a friend, with a disclaimer and only because there is nothing better on the market for this solution.

Comments about Thule Revolver 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
can be tricky to get 4 full-size bikes on this, but it's possible. top retaining straps sometimes balky, and installing on trailer hitch sometimes risks a hernia, but swing-away feature to allow access to back of car is very convenient. This is a bit heavy, but pretty solid, and overall a very good rack.

Comments about Thule Revolver 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
Application: 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser with rear door mounted spare tire. Super sturdy and swings WAY out of the way with ease. Plenty of clearance even with the full size spare mounted. Minor issue with engaging threads of lower locking handle (took some time to figure out the alignment had to be just right). MAJOR ISSUE with fitment for my bikes. Out of three bikes (one mid-grade mountain bike, one Schwinn mountain bike from Target, and one kiddie mountain bike) only the Schwinn fit (with difficulty). I had to purchase two adpaters($40 each) to fit the other bikes. Probably works very well with a standard road bike but be prepared to shell out an extra $40 per "non-standard" bike. Even so, I still give four stars for the quality of build and general ease of use. Oh yeah, and MADE IN USA!!!

Comments about Thule Revolver 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
This only holds 3 comfortably unless you want all your bikes scratched up.
Very heavy...should fit a large SUV...no small cars.
Swings in nice but hard to screw together to hold the swing arm in.

Comments about Thule Revolver 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
I was really impressed by how secure the bikes were when lashed down. Even without an adapter I was able to load my wife's bike (Y Frame) without a problem.

Comments about Thule Revolver 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
I have a Roadtrek RV with double rear doors. I often need to access the RV from the back. It's so easy to move the bike rack out of the way with the bikes on it. It took a while for me to figure out how to put it together, but [...] offered to put it together for me. I would buy this product again for any large car if easy access to the rear is needed. For me it is worth every penny ([$]) it cost me.

Comments about Thule Revolver 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
I bought Thule's "Trailblazer" in '04 and found it to be good quality, reliable and easy to use. However, that product was recently recalled due to a safety concern [...] I reselected Thule's new "Revolver" which is the 'like' item to what I previously owned. It is very similar to the the original "Trailblazer" with a few nice improvements to make safer and even more user-friendly. I am very satisfied with my new Thule "Revolver" bike rack [...]

Comments about Thule Revolver 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
I own a 2007 Jeep Wrangler and this rack will fit and works great with just enough room to spare between spare and rack, as opposed to the Yakima Swing Away which will not fit at all due to the spare tire and swing away tailgate. Swings out with enough room on the side as well although with 2 bikes, does tend to bend at full extension. With down tube addition, bike is quite steady, even dual suspension without an add a bar. I would be hesitate to fit more than 3 mountain bikes.

Comments about Thule Revolver 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
for small or unusual frames you need to use and add on bar. The straps can scratch and rub the paint on the bikes too. Take a lot longer to use this type of rack vs. a roof rack or a hitch rack that has trays.

Comments about Thule Revolver 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
The bike rack itself has been incredible. Have consistently traveled with 3 bikes without incident. It's sturdy and I have no worries about my bikes falling off during drives on bumpy fire roads (i.e. Moab). My only disappointment has been that the swing arm doesn't open wide enough with my bikes on it so that I can lift the tailgate on my SUV. I can open the tailgate window with no problem so it hasn't been a deal breaker. I will have have recommended this rack to friends.
