Comments about Guyot Designs Squishy Bowl and Cup Set:

I've used these bowls in the past and finally purchased myself a set for a backpacking trip in the Grand Tetons. Completely worth it! They are light weight and easy to compress for packing. Cleaning them out is very easy. You can even flip them inside out to enjoy the last bit of food in them - which is a bonus when your backpacking! Both bowls work well with hot liquids.

My only complaint is that if you're not being careful and squeeze them too much you'll pour out the contents.

Comments about Guyot Designs Squishy Bowl and Cup Set:

These squishy mugs are, well, squishy! They are super easy to clean--food just slides right off. They do tend to be quite hot when using as a mug for coffee. Hot liquids cool off pretty quickly so I am inclined to use my covered lightweight insulated mug for hot coffee and the bowl for food. Advantages to using my insulated mug: it holds crackers/cookies to prevent breakage, and is better for hot liquids. Advantages to using the squishy bowl: it folds nicely into small spaces, is easier to clean, and weighs slightly less than my insulated mug. The small cup is almost too small to be useful....only holds about 6 oz.

What do think of when you think of Silicone? Heat resistance.
That's why I bought these. There is very little heat resistance here. THe first time I used them it became obvious that I still needed something between the bowl and my hand, or I would burn.

Comments about Guyot Designs Squishy Bowl and Cup Set:

Been using one since 2008 on canoe treks, car camping and backpacking. I don't use the cup, too small but the bowl is awesome. To clean it I just start licking the insides until I can turn it inside out on my fist then lick the rest clean then wash it. Beats yum-yum water anyday! It also packs away really well in a backpack.
If you put really hot stuff in, wait for it to cool or it can get uncomfortable to hold.
My only real complaint is a Sharpie marker does not stay on the material long, get too many of these in camp and it's hard to tell them apart when doing the dishes!

Comments about Guyot Designs Squishy Bowl and Cup Set:

We got one set of these when the kid was old enough to demand her own dishes, thinking she'd stay with the blue enamel and I'd see if we liked these. Ha!

She prefers to hold her dishes over setting them on the table, and these are a little easier to not slop while holding them. She loves to turn them inside out and lick them before dishes.

I like that they can squish to pack, they don't rattle, and I'm not going to chip or damage them when I drop them. We got a set for everyone and I finally got to try them.

If you like to squeeze your dishes, or like a solid, firm feeling, you won't like these.

Most of our camp cooking is "add boiling water", so we already use bowls and cups.

Comments about Guyot Designs Squishy Bowl and Cup Set:

Incredibly durable and can be packed in the smallest niche of your pack, BUT holds odors despite my best cleaning efforts. After using it for a pasta dish with garlic, the odor remained in it so significantly that I had to hang it with my food to keep the bears away. Multiple washings, detergents and other strategies and it still smells as strongly as if I had never washed it. I looked online to see that this is on-going problem with silicon cooking products. Huge disappointment for an otherwise excellent product.

This set is awesome. I haven't had the opportunity to eat from them yet, but I can't imagine that would change anything about the awesomness of this set. They look cool, they're supersquishy, I can pack them into anything, they weigh very little. What more could you ask for?

These are really cool, and you can just throw them in your pack, but they do tip over easily, so if you're hiking, and you don't have nice flat surfaces available (which is typically the case when you stop for the night), it's hard to find places to set these things down because they do tend to tip over easily/are hard to balance. But they are cool. I would recommend them.

Comments about Guyot Designs Squishy Bowl and Cup Set:

They are as advertised. Virtually indestructible, light weight and can squish into any part of your pack that has room. I use the bowl all the time while backpacking or day hiking. The cup is a little small for me as I like a BIG cup of coffee. In addition, be careful using the cup for hot liquids. The cup has no insulating properties (I suppose the bowl doesn't either) and hot liquids may burn a tender hand. The cup also has the feel of a water balloon. It kind of gives in your hand and can cause spillage if you aren't careful. I don't use the cup very often and usually carry a different one (that I put the bowl in). I will use the cup if I'm going really light or don't have the room for another cup but it isn't my first choice.
