After using almost every type of sport drink, I decided to try Heed. I use it during my workout of 2 or more hours. The taste is one of the most pleasant I've tried (orange & strawberry) of all the sports drinks. I mix it a little more diluted that the directions - but have tried it diluted and full strength and both taste well. Heed doesn't seem to give me that bloated feeling of ingesting too much of a sport drink. I also like the fact that the ingredients aren't artifical colors, flavors or added simple sugars. Its difficult at times to know if it is doing what its supposed to, but in my longer workouts I don't feel the "bonk" like I used to feel.

I found this product works best when the drink is still cool. After hours of sloshing around in the bottle and getting heated by the sun, it can almost be too heavy to drink. I wouldn't say that it is necessarily any heavier than Gatorade or Cytomax, but since this product isn't supposed to be as sweet as those two, it feels like a thicker mix.
To me, loading one bottle with Heed and one with water to go back and forth between the two worked best and kept me going.
Overall a great product. I didn't experience any bonking and cramping over 96 miles and my stomach felt fine.

I've been using Hammer's Heed for the past 4 years. I've tried all the other brands that I could get my hands on and when I found Heed that was it. I have a sensitive stomach and it's never bothered me. It goes down easy, excellent electrolyte replenishment, and no simple sugars = no sugar crashes. It's also easily mixable with other powder products if need be. I also use Hammer's Perpetuem or Sustained Energy and they coincide with Heed just fine. Heed's the best electrolyte replenishment, or sport drink, you can get.

I would give it 5 stars, but I noticed it's hard to mix when I put it in the bottle with ice in it already. I can see strand-looking unmixed powder. I found it's easier to mix first into a cup (or even the bottle with little water), then add ice and more water so it's fully diluted.

The flavor is a little light for my preference. I prefer heavier taste. But compared to my Cytomax energy and recovery, this doesn't seem to fill me up. I mean, I feel full sometimes on the Cytomax that I don't want to drink anymore (not good!).

I like the product and find its only fault to be that the included scoop will hold 40 grams of the powder and the label would have you use 1 or 2 heaping scoops per water bottle which would yield less than half of the 32 servings which are to be in the canister. There simply are not 32 scoops of powder in the Heed canister no matter how you look at it.

I've used this for a few seasons with great success. One thing that separates this product from the rest is a muted flavor, which during long workouts becomes very nice. No sweetness overload! The sugars used are even tooth-friendly, so no worries there as well. And....Hammer phone or e-mail support is the best!
