Comments about The North Face Windwall 2 Jacket - Men's:
I love this jacket. Bought it because regular fleeces [*] in the wind. This thing is warm, breathable, stylish, comfortable and worth every penny. Layers well, and the windwall fabric extends into the collar, which is nice for bundling up. I have no complaints, and unlike other North Face Apex jackets, it has sleeves for humans instead of orangutans.

Comments about The North Face Windwall 2 Jacket - Men's:
though not as windproof as a windstopper softshell, the northface windwall 2 stops most wind dead in its tracks while still providing warmth and versatility for layering. it removes one of the main annoyances of fleece, namely that it's useless as an outer layer in heavy wind due to high breathability. in storm conditions, you'll still want an outer shell and/or an inner layer, but for what it is the windwall 2 performs well. the jacket doesnt have adjustable cuffs or a neck cord, and the grid-like inner fabric is kind of stiff until you wash it a few times, but this is a durable and dependable coat that's pretty lightweight for the weather protection it offers. i've had mine for a couple of years now and it has worn well. living in the bay area, where windchill is no joke, this is the perfect jacket for days that start out sunny and end up chilly.

Comments about The North Face Windwall 2 Jacket - Men's:
Great jacket so far, makes a great single layer in the shoulder season (single as in t-shirt plus jacket). For casual uses it breathes great, and in colder outdoor temperatures it's not a problem. I would not recommend it for aerobic activity on warm fall days. My only complaint is the fit. I'm 6'3" and 200lbs (= a little overweight) and the large is too large in the chest while the medium was way too short in sleeves and torso. I know Americans are getting bigger but a "large" should not be too big for someone of my size.

Comments about The North Face Windwall 2 Jacket - Men's:
This jacket is all about the fabric. This fabric is not polar fleece. Windwall is a proprietary wind-resistant fleece from The North Face rated at 20CFM. [...]All that explanation doesn't relate much to practical experience so let me say the following. The 20CFM rating allows some air to penetrate in a strong wind. This is perfect when biking. During aerobic biking enough air will penetrate to really move the moisture out of your clothes. While one should not confuse air permeability with breathability, that air flow will increase moisture transport through convection. What could be improved? For my use, the garment should be redesigned. Put in some pit zips, a bit lower back hem, and some back pockets and WOW! This would be the best bike jacket on the market!

Comments about The North Face Windwall 2 Jacket - Men's:
This is my second windwall, I use it for everyday wear to work and around town. The first lasted several years before it began to wear down on the elbows and let more air in. Not in love with the new location of the third pocket on the left sleeve. It is a bit difficult to unzip easily to get the cel phone out.

I was looking for a jacket I could use hiking during spring/fall as well as use in a layer system during winter. Mission accomplished!

Comments about The North Face Windwall 2 Jacket - Men's:
First North Face product I have purchased....was looking for light weight warm jacket for winter (and fall/spring). Weather here got cold (20F) and I found that it didn't keep me as warm as I had hoped. Windwall not quite as good a WindStopper (which I have in 2 golf garments) but did a reasonable job. I think this jacket will work fine for me in the spring/fall (30-50 F). Love the design and styling.
Went back to REI and got North Face Windwall Thermal Jacket which was more $$$$ but I'm hoping it performs better in cold weather.

Comments about The North Face Windwall 2 Jacket - Men's:
It's a great jacket for all Temps between 50F and below. It works wonders in the wind too. I use it as a layer under my rain/storm shell for temps below 20F, and I stay nice and warm all day long. It's a great jacket that will keep you warm in all seasons.
The only con, I wear this one a lot, and the elbows after 6 months are looking a little worn from regular use.
Overall, I would say this a great jacket for all types of use.

This is a great product, but I prefer the older version with a Napoleon pocket and a single color.
