I practically live in sandals so when I saw the colors I bought three pairs. Forget about wearing these with sandals because they don't hold up to sports sandal straps. These and another style from SmartWool wore out very quickly. At least this one didn't get holes from being washed in a washer on low speed like the other style did. I will never buy "Smart"Wool again.

If you like thin socks then these may be ok for you. In the winter I like my socks to have a little padding under toe & heel. The Smartwool Jovian & Smartwool Reflections both have that padding just under the foot, but thin around the rest of the ankle area. Those worked out better for me.

I am a SmartWool fanatic, but the Margarita socks are not the way to go. I have several pairs that I bought at once as they are great thickness to wear with work shoes. Each pair has worn completely through in the heal and at the balls of my feet. I have been very disappointed in this particular style. I will still continue to invest in SmartWool socks, just never again this style.

These are my favorite socks, I wear them to work mostly, during spring fall and winter, and use thicker socks when I'm going to be outside during cold weather.
My first pair I've had for several years and they have no holes. I especially like that I could buy Large for my size 10 feet.
Confession- they don't retain smells or moisture so I often wear them 2 or 3 times before washing.

I've owned multiple pairs of SmartWool socks, but the Margaritas are my favorite and I've owned two pairs and I'm buying a couple more pairs while they are on sale. They are thin, this is what I love about them (besides the great stripes), but it also causes them to wear out prior to the thicker, warmer socks. When the thicker socks are to much, I tend to live in these. They last me a year or two, so I feel thats fine; even then they don't get holes, just "bald" spots. They'd be highly darnable if I would just take the time to do it.

I had the same issue with these socks as some other reviewers - the heels wore out very quickly. I also have saturnsphere and fairisle smartwool socks and neither have worn out in the heels like the margaritas did. I won't buy another pair of the margaritas. I'm sticking with the fairisle (the saturnsphere have too much cushion to fit in my daily footwear).

I have had multiple pairs of the margarita socks in different colors. They are so cute and bright. However, they do not hold up well at all. I thought my first pair wore out in the heels after wearing about 5 times because I wore them in the house without shoes. However, I have had the same problem repeatedly with subsequent pairs. They cost too much to not last very long!

I'm going to agree with a previous poster: these socks did not last as long as the saturnsphere socks. A couple of wears and washes, and the heels were wearing through. Saturnsphere purchased at the same time have been worn and washed many times with no signs of wear. (and this holds true for each of the three pairs of Margarita socks I purchased. I also purchased 5 pair of Saturnsphere, and all are still going strong)
