Comments about Zamberlan 310 Skill GT Hiking Boots - Women's:
I've won the boot lottery with these boots. They fit my feet wonderfully and feel fabulous. I love putting them on.
I wear an 8.5 in street shoes, but wear a 9.5 (9H) in the Zamberlans.
The full grain leather is beautiful and shape to my feet like gloves. The tips of the toe boxes are scratched, but I think of them as battle scars and care for the leather carefully. (A boot with a rubber toe bumper would prevent these scratches, but you trade off breathability in that area.)
The Skills have very solid construction (stiff). The boot does a lot of work for me, and that let's me keep up with my fast walking husband and walk longer before I get tired.
My favorite detail about these boots is that the underside of the tongue is generously padded all the way down to my toes. Luscious! When I crank down on the laces for downhills, it's soft and huggy on the tops of my feet. Why doesn't every company do this?!
Another thing I enjoy in these boots is one set of the lace hooks (the first ones above the loops) locks the laces in place. This allows me to maintain two different zones of lace tightness without having to do any fancy lacing techniques from Ian's shoelace website. :)
Every foot needs and enjoys different boots. I'm so happy I found the boots that fit my feet so well. Makes me want to throw them on an go for a hike whenever I can.

Great boots. Bought this to replace a pair I'd bought elsewhere that didn't live up to expectations on a 3-week trip to Mongolia. These boots are supportive and comfortable. However, I do find that the traction on wet rocks when scrambling is not great.

I thought I was going to love these boots, good support, little break-in, comfortable,.. Then I took them out for a backpack and the soles started to fall off! After only 30 miles of hiking on granite in the Sierra's (about 60 miles total wear) the soles started to seriously delaminate on both boots. Luckily several people on the John Muir trail carried, and were kind enough to give me, their superglue or this would have been a very short trip.

I'd never purchased hiking boots before and decided to take a leap of faith and trust the other reviewers when they stated that no break in was required, and thankfully this turned out to be true. I wore them right out of the box for a week of backpacking in the Cascades last summer and only had some minor irritation on one heal after a few days. I'd highly recommend these boots.

I ordered these boots in a 7.5 US. I received boots that were labeled 39H and 7H. They were much shorter than most 7.5 and so narrow that my toes rubbed on the sides (my feet aren't overly wide). I thought that I was given a size 7 by mistake and I sent three pairs of these back until REI figured out that the H stood for half. I tried the size 8 and it fit in the toe box but was so big I could remove it without untying the laces. I really wanted to try Zamberlans, but they are impossible to fit. I will stick with my 7.5 Lowas which fit just fine.

Boots had to be returned because my wife got heel blisters when she wore them. Boots were fit by REI staff, no heel slip, but still got blisters right below her achillies on the back of her heel. REI returned the boots with no problems though, we will just have to find something that works better for her foot.

Comments about Zamberlan 310 Skill GT Hiking Boots - Women's:
I did my homework on these boots, checked them out against a few others in the store. They seemed like the right fit for me and according to the REI rep they would cure the issue of the crazy foot fatigue I experienced during my 5-day backpack trip across wobbly scree slopes.
I broke them in on local snowshoes and then local hikes for four months. They are stiff, and heavy, but that is what I was told I would need. The thing is- the boots never rubbed or indicated any trouble spots during break in. As with my other hiking boots, I simply felt fortunate to have made a good pick/fit selection off the bat.
Last weekend I repeated the same backpack trip, and boy was I wrong. Toward the end of Day 1 I had noticed some serious friction on my heel despite tightening up the laces up top- and this was with my feet already prepped with tape to prevent blisters as usual.
I let me feet air and breathe with camp shoes and added protection to my heels again the next morning but no luck- by the time we reached camp on Day 2 I had some serious blisters going on at the back and inside side of each heel. Day 3 the skin broke on them while hiking and it was excruciating- my friend and hiking partner actually swapped me her shoes and despite being a half size smaller than me, it provided immediate mitigation of pain. When we finished our trip- she had some choice words for my heavy, stiff boots. An avid hiker with tons of experience, she said she had never before experienced cramps like that.
To boot, I still experienced foot fatigue. Why did I buy these again?!
Now, clearly this is all about my foot and the fit with the boot, so I will tally un-foot-related facts:
PLUS:
-Major ankle support on uneven, wobbly terrain
-Did improve foot fatigue symptoms
-Waterproof awesomeness- splashed through streams
CONS:
-Heavy
-Stiff Stiff Stiff
-As with all gortex lined boots- takes forever to dry (when one slips on rock and water gets over tops).
I would say- greatly increase your expectancy for how long it will take these boots to break in OR make sure you are breaking them in on plenty of hills to detect any heel slipping/rubbing going uphill (that was my culprit). Any rubbing at all- change sizes. Still have the problem? Return/exchange the boots. Do NOT go on a trip with them.... you will be sorry!

I bought these boots for a 120-mile hike I am doing this summer and have been training with them. They are more comfortable than I expected and provide good foot protection and ankle support.
My only issue is I have difficulty getting the laces tied tight and I have to double knot them or they will come untied quickly. I will probably get some type of extra arch support for them, but that is an issue I often have with shoes and boots so is not necessarily a problem with this product.
I have worn them on pavement, through snow and shallow water, and on moderate terrain and they have performed well on all. They are not good for icy conditions however.

Comments about Zamberlan 310 Skill GT Hiking Boots - Women's:
I bought these boots and they were a perfect match for my feet and activities. They have hiked the hundred mile wilderness in Maine, Backpacked the Canadian Rockes for a week, climbed the several peaks of the Catskills and been out on a backpack for many, many trips. I believe I am well past the 500 mile recommendation. I did not have any break in time and they were perfect for difficult, long rock scrambles offering significant stability. I have never had a blister and with a bit of water proofing they handle most winter wetness. I have abandoned all my other boots in favor of this one for all my hiking, backpacking, and rock scrambling which is just about every weekend. If you are doing any lengthy trips and need solid support in many environments, these are perfect. They are well worth the additional money for the durability and stability they provide. I am working on replacing my insoles, but the boot is still in excellent condition. Great job, Zamberland!

These boots are FABULOUS! I tried on several pairs and was about to give up until I gave these a try. The price was much higher that I really wanted to pay, but they are totally worth it! My toes get cold easilly, but these kept my feet warm and dry after a morning of hiking through the snow.
