Comments about Amphipod Full Tilt Velocity Waist Pack:

Purchased 3 of these, 2 as gifts for friends. Put right to use and find that the design works good. Dismayed however at the poor/weak side seam of the pocket. After first use discovered that the seam was torn and beginning to form a hole (all I did on the first run was to put a compact cell phone in it). [...]

Comments about Amphipod Full Tilt Velocity Waist Pack:

I've found this pack to be everything that I've been looking for, for my runs during this year's marathon training. Unfortunately I found it so late into my schedule! As I've been tapering down, 8-13 milers is what I have taken this pack on, on all different types of terrain: Trails, roads, and paths. It holds on great and is very comfortable. Sometimes I forgot it was even there! The water bottle is easy to pull out with one hand, drink from mid run, and then replace. The nozzle can be a little stiff at times, you just need to make sure that you've closed it all the way, but it does alllow for a good flow of water. The water bottle shape fits my back perfectly, and holds enough water to get me through my mid-distance runs. There is a little bungee cord that magically keeps the water bottle in place even when full. I haven't had any problems with it slipping out. The spandex pocket holds much more than you would think. I've fit in house keys, 3 or 4 gels, ID, cash....any of the small things a runner might want to have on them. The zipper is easy to access and to pull stuff out of. The straps hold on tight, are easily adjustable, and don't loosen up. Some have complained that the pack rides up on them...I think that they might be trying to wear it too low. I keep the straps right above my hip bones, with the water bottle fitting snugly in the small of my back, and the thing never moves at all. It seems to be designed for doing everything on the right side, so I don't know how it would be for lefties. I really like this pack and would highly recommend it to others.

Comments about Amphipod Full Tilt Velocity Waist Pack:

I liked that this pack really is compact, light, and allows for air circulation. The flattened bottle and side entry are really nice features, as it's less bulky and sloshy, and it's so easy to grab the bottle and slide it right back while running! I wanted a compact pack that could also hold a few essentials, such as a cell phone, gels, cash and a key - I was a bit skeptical when I ordered, as the pocket looked so small! But it's very stretchy (!), and I found it easily fits everything! :)

The only drawback for me was that although it didn't bounce much, I found that it kept riding up from my hips to my waist when I ran. I finally gave up trying to wear it below my waist, and just adjusted it for a higher fit. That was a little disappointing. I think maybe that's just a problem if you're female, as I've had other packs do the same. It probably would stay in place better if you're a guy, as there's not as much difference in the waist and hip measurements.

Comments about Amphipod Full Tilt Velocity Waist Pack:

I'm training for my first 1/2 marathon and needed to start running with a water supply. 8 mile training runs without water were getting pretty miserable. I chose this running pack because of the water bottle design and the multitude of good reviews stating how comfortable and unnoticeable this pack was.

        Comfort
Those reviews are right on. I took the pack for a 6.5 mile run and didn't feel like I was carrying anything uncomfortable. I knew it was there, but it wasn't distracting or anything. As far as sloshing around, I didn't really notice. The padding between your back and the water bottle is very comfortable. By the end of the run, you don't really notice it at all because you've finished most of the water.

        Access
I've never run with water before this pack so I couldn't compare it with anything else. I found it very easy to access the water bottle. Just undo the elastic strap and the water bottle slides out easily. Putting it back is just as easy and the elastic strap keeps the bottle from falling out of the belt. I'm right-handed and the water bottle is situated so that I can access it with my right hand. I'm not sure if I would have had problems with my left had the design been reversed.

        Storage
I didn't really put anything in the storage pocket, but the material is very stretchy and it seems like it can hold a lot... car/house key, ID, credit cards, small phone. The material does look very thin, so be careful putting anything sharp in there. Mine didn't rip, but I can see how that could happen... minor detail.

        iPod
This was an unexpected bonus. I normally run with a first-gen iPod Nano on an arm band, which can be distracting if the arm band is too tight or too loose (iPod moves around). There are two elastic belt loops to hold the extra belt in place after adjusting the running pack to your waist. Those belt loops are just the right size to securely hold my iPod Nano (in addition to the belt) for easy access while running. I was able to ditch the arm band and was much more comfortable.

Comments about Amphipod Full Tilt Velocity Waist Pack:

I am training for my second marathon and have started to get into the high mileage runs. Carrying a water bottle in my hands just doesn't cut it. I love this little hydration pack..I can't even tell its there. It is padded in the perfect spot and fits nicely in the small of your back. The bottle has an ergonomic design so when you pull it out to get a drink it is easy to hold onto and get water out of. Don't underestimate the little pocket on the front, it is made of a really stretchy material that makes it easy to stuff in a bunch of essentials for a long run. Bottom line, I am lucky I found this hydration pack and I would recommend it to anyone who runs, bikes, or hikes!

Comments about Amphipod Full Tilt Velocity Waist Pack:

I have used this product for both it's intended use (running) and an unintended use (holding my keys while snorkeling) and it held up well to both of them. It doesn't bounce, cut off my ability to breathe or sit uncomfortably high. I am short, so it's nice to have something that fits in the small of my back. The bottle is easy to get out on the run, and I have even taken it kayaking, strapped to my leg (so I could lean against the backrest).

Comments about Amphipod Full Tilt Velocity Waist Pack:

I use this product on my outdoor trail runs for 10K - 1/2 marathon training. It's lightweight, simple, easily adjustable to fit my body, stays put even through a long run, i really don't feel it there during my workouts, and it wicks great! The water bottle's volume has worked out well for me so far, and I have had great experiences with the bottle staying secure in the pack, and ease for use and replacement on the run. There is one zippered compartment on the body of the pack, and it's stretchy enough to hold my classic i-pod, cards, and keys (house, car, and car clicker) all at the same time. i love this pack and enjoy using it.

Comments about Amphipod Full Tilt Velocity Waist Pack:

I've been an avid runner for years. My distance runs are between 7-10 miles, I run about 20-25 miles a week. I've tried carrying water bottles in my hand or wearing a hydration pack, but found the bottles too cumbersome and the hydration pack too bulky and heavy...who needs the extra weight on a long run?? While this product's water bottle isn't too voluminous, it holds enough water to wash down my energy gel and keep me hydrated until I get back home. This pack sits in the small of your back, and it easily tightens with two straps in front. I've worn it inside and outside of my shirt and never had a problem with it riding up my back, and like my title says, I didn't even know it was there. There's a small elastic strap that goes over the nozzle of your water bottle; make sure that it's properly attached or your bottle will fall out.I can easily slide the pack around from my back to my side for easy access to the pouch while running, to grab my energy gel or cell phone (Nokia 6160). It also holds a small set of keys.I'm very happy with this, I bought the blue/gray model instead of the florescent yellow. I[...] I look forward to using this little pack for a long time. I would not recommend this for hiking unless it is a very short hike. You will need more water/liquids than this pack can hold.

I bought this to hydrate during long runs, from the get go I had problems with the belt riding up my hips. After a few miles I gave in and adjusted the belt to fit around my waist which was not only uncomfortable but distracting. Even with it cinched down the bottle felt "sloshy". I would recommend this for low impact walking or hiking, but not running. The pouch is great, it holds a lot more than you would think, and the bottle is easy to pull out and put back.
