Comments about Joby Gorillapod SLR:
This is one of the coolest, handiest gadgets I have ever owned. This little guy will attach to anything...tree branches, rocks, you name it. It is extremely versaitle and very rugged. It holds it's shape very well and won't come loose. You will not regret buying this.

Comments about Joby Gorillapod SLR:
I bought this and one other small tripod to take on day hikes. I used the Gorillapod first and loved it so much that I never have tried the other one. This a great product! Due to its design, it is quite easy to pack. Just bend and form it around the other items in your back. It's quite durable and it works exactly as advertised for mounting a camera on just about any object.
Now the down side. Due to its design and being able to bend it around everything, when you want the legs to be straight be ready to spend a few minutes getting the kinks out. (Yes, it's a pretty small down side...)

Comments about Joby Gorillapod SLR:
Pros- I like to solo and take pictures along the way. I like the tripod because it is so small(fits anywhere) and can flex in any configuration needed.
Cons- On our last trip my wife and I tried to take a picture of ourselves with my new camera, a breeze came along and the tripod tipped over and fell on the ground(3 feet). One of the rings cracked and it no longer would hold the camera in a fixed position. I think part of the problem was that on my new camera, the tripod attached to one of the sides (This made the tripod unstable)and not in the middle, like on my old camera. I am going to try to glue it, but most likely I will have to exchange it or buy a new tripod. If your camera does not attach in the middle, you might want to buy the tab that glues on to avoid any tipping over, like mine did.

Comments about Joby Gorillapod SLR:
The joby idea is great. As a table top tripod it is truley unique and the tripod itself is a 5 star. The one big problem is the fact that it is very difficult to change camera angle from the tripod head. The problem is there really is no tripod head per se. Since the ball joints have to be tight to keep the tripods shape it also makes it very hard to rotate or change angle at the tripod head. I am returning this one and getting the SLR Zoom version which allows you to use your own tripod head.
