Comments about REI Cargo Weekender Bag:
Can't say enough about this bag. I always used my overstuffed school backpack for weekend trips because it was easy to carry. Finally I spotted this bad boy on the floor under a pile of other bags in the store's luggage department, and it was love at first sight. This bag is not only HUGE inside with thoughtful compartments, but it also has the versatility to be carried on my back or slung on my shoulder or held by hand. This past winter I hauled all my skiing clothes including a helmet in this bag. I brought it to a nice hotel on another trip and it looked great. How many bags can do all of that?
The shape is also perfect for the trunk of the car (there's a neat handle on the top perfect for pulling the bag out of the trunk) and it works as carry-on on the plane. The orange color I got stands out from other luggage, too. I will not hesitate to use this on week-long driving trips, though I might consider getting a Wheely-beast for more than an extended weekend flying trip.
As a bonus, this bag will make your friends shamelessly jealous. My girlfriends are weekend bag connoisseurs and they were asking me what other colors this bag came in!

Comments about REI Cargo Weekender Bag:
I've logged over 25,000 air miles with this bag as a carry-on this year alone, and I love it. I've also used it for weekend getaways. The ability to use it as a backpack, especially when schlepping through airports all over the world (not all of them modern), has been a life saver of a feature.
The size of the bag is deceptive, as it seems to hold way more than it looks like it can. It's great for clothing, and other non-fragile items, and the variety of pockets aids in the packing process. This bag has been a great all-around travel bag and I wholeheartedly can recommend it.

Comments about REI Cargo Weekender Bag:
I just used this bag for a 5 day trip to San Diego and packed everything I needed easily. It had room for an extra jacket and an extra pair of shoes in addition to clothes. The backpack straps are awesome, it was a breeze to carry in the airport. I was also able to carry it on the plane and stow it without any difficulty. This was my first trip with it, but it exceeded my expectations. It seems sturdy, but only time will tell. Very impressed so far.

Comments about REI Cargo Weekender Bag:
This pack is awesome for a few reasons. FIrst it is really big inside and you can fit many items. I also like the ability to have all sorts of side pockets and small storage compartments all over bag. The main reason I bought this bag also was because of the hidden back straps. THis is ideal because I love to have my hands free. Another point I should mention is the sneaker padded compartment- I have size 12 feet and was surpised that they slip right in the end pocket sideways, out of sight! None of my travel bags do that!
I'd give this bag a 9.5/10 also especially for the style.

Comments about REI Cargo Weekender Bag:
I am very impressed with this bag. I use duffels for two- or three-day business trips, as well as family trips. This bag replaced a Victorinox Werks II that just fell apart. At first, this bag seemed too small, but it seems a little like something from "Harry Potter" - it looks small on the outside, but it's got plenty of room on the inside. As I can easily fit everything in it that I could in the Werks bag, it has been more than adequate for my space requirements.
The build seems very sturdy. There's good thought put into every little detail, such as the zipper, the pulls, the seams, the various handles.
I hope to use and have this bag a long, long time.

Comments about REI Cargo Weekender Bag:
We bought one of each color for our 12 and 15 year old children for a trip to Belize and Guatemala. There was enough room for clothes and snorkel gear. Easy to sling over the shoulder to get from car to hotel room or using as a backpack getting to cabins and lodges. Extremely functional, good looking and works just as well for a long weekend as a 10-day trip (as long as you know how to pack light...).

Comments about REI Cargo Weekender Bag:
Our school purchased these packs for our GYLI group and they worked perfectly for various destinations. From 5 days aboard a freedom schooner in Boston to 10 day in the rainforest in Costa Rica, this was a very useful and practical bag. The additional backpack straps came in particularly helpful when portaging from airports, railroads and campsites!

Comments about REI Cargo Weekender Bag:
An amazing amount of carrying space, diverse pocket sizes and carrying straps that are quite comfortable make this my primary choice for just the vast majority of my personal travelling needs. I've used this duffel to carry all my electronics to a friend's house or to pack it to the brim for a week of travelling across the States. The sole problem that has arisen is that the rubberized zipper ends do not stay on much longer than a month or two; less with near-constant use (like mine). The zippers themselves, however, don't look like they're going anywere. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Comments about REI Cargo Weekender Bag:
This bag is the best weekender i've ever had. Lots of individual compartments for easy access. I love the two outer ends pockets for shoes.
The hidden backpack straps are the best!!! I generally overpack, making the bag kinda heavy for over the sholder, but not as a backpack.

Comments about REI Cargo Weekender Bag:
I use this bag almost every weekend when I come out of the city. The end pocket is great for the sneakers I never wear on my trips and the other end keeps all my other little stuff separated. Sometimes I wish it was bigger - but then I'm glad it isn't. Padded shoulder strap is great and I know if I'm going to be holding it that long I can always zip open the back and use the backpack straps.
