Knocked off one star due to Velcro strap. With use it loses adhesion. With that said, there is a one year warranty on Keen products, and with REI being an authorized retailer you should purchase with no fear. My son loves these and hates sneakers, when they get a little funky you can throw them in the washing machine. Bought some for myself as well, love Keens.

I wear a woman's 7.5, which equals a boys 5.5...they were half the price of the woman's and fit great. I tried on both, and felt no difference. I work in a garden nursery and these are perfect. I am wanting another pair for non-work. Wish I had known about these when my kids were younger. They are so comfortable. I just love them! You have to try them!

Living in the mountains, Keen sandals are invaluable. They go anywhere my son goes tackling dirt, mud, rivers, lakes, sand. His growing feet have had a new pair every spring for 6 years, and he still looks forward to getting them! The adjustable straps and drawstring ensure that he always has a snug fit. The toe guard and heavy outsole keep his feet well protected. As a parent, I cannot recommend them enough.

Bought these for my son,11, last summer. He lived in them. Continued to wear them to school in fall, then winter & we're in Ann ARbor, Michigan, but he just put them with socks and wore them inside at school. He's hard on shoes but they didn't wear out. I just bought him a larger size, and his old ones, size 5, fit me & I'm a wide width women's 6 1/2. So now I have a pair and they're very comfortable for me, too. They're worth the price.

These shoes are the most durable pair I have ever purchased in my daughter's entire four years. They hold up to running, scraping, jumping, water, mud, EVERYTHING! Throw them in the washer and they come out looking brand new. The colors are durable and lasting. I will be purchasing a new pair of these each summer for her. They work great for playing in the yard, trips to the pool, playing in the pond, water day at school, running in the sprinklers, as well as everyday activities. They are easy for her to put on with velcro closures. They do make her feet a bit sweaty, as they are summer shoes with a rubber bottom (no soft padding or fabric bottom) and dirt does get in them resulting in dirty toenails, but that would happen with any other type of sandal as well. I highly recommend these to everyone as your go-to shoe for summer!

My 6-year-old wore them for a day without socks and his feet stank. Same thing every day of the week afterwards. Went and bought different shoes, no more stink :)
So, unless you enjoy washing your kids feet every night, don't buy these. Nice shoes otherwise. Wish I had known the stink issue before spending the money.

These sandals held up well during a walk in shallow tide pools. They are water proof, meaning they can go in water. The feet get wet, of course, but that is the fun of going to the beach, right? After taking a long time looking at tide pools, we took the difficult way back to the parking lot that had us climb steep inclines and slowly half slide down steep slopes. I recommend these shoes as the ultimate in leisure sandals. Because the toes are protected and the heel is closed, this sandal goes where hardly any other sandal goes. When my kids outgrow these, I will buy this model again.

These are durable and supportive sandals. They fit my 10 yr old daughter wonderfully. She loves them for everything, bike riding, a day at the beach, etc. However, for my 6 yr old son they aren't so great. When he gets out of the pool even when we dry his feet off they are really hard to get on, I have to help and its still difficult. Secondly, he has a huge blister from wearing them at the beach. I suppose his feet got wet and then the chafing began. This didn't happen with my daughter, so I'm not sure if its just a different fit, but I'm very disappointed with this. Though happy with my daughter's.

The things that sold me on this shoe were the fact it has no laces and that it has a closed back (the adult sizes do not). I bought the kids' size because they fit (and saved me mucho bucks), and had a closed back. However, I took a size smaller than the kids size I usually wear. I'm one of those people whose laces have been untied since birth, and the velcro and tightening system are great. I wore them to work today with a light sock and they were wonderful. I had them on yesterday barefoot and my feet got hot. Not a problem with the socks. I hardly know I have them on, and they are comfortable as can be!

I am an adult female. I wear size 7.5 but tried the kids size 6 on. They fit perfect plus I got to pay the kids price! I tried the Ahnu on and compared fit and comfort and there was NO comparison. The Keens were WAY more comfortable and had great toe room. When you hike or your feet get hot, they swell so having that extra breathing room for your toes is great. The bungee strap allows you to tighten them and the velcro strap is very easy to loosen and tighten. They are very easy to put on and take off- unlike the Ahnus. I love these so much I bought my son a pair. We wear them all the time now. Try them on. See for yourself!
