Comments about The North Face TKA 100 Glacier Quarter-Zip Top - Men's:
I bought this as a nice lightweight sweater that I could wear on chilly mornings in the summer. However it has far surpassed that usage.
Despite its thinness it is warm enough for just about any high-aerobic activity if under a shell. I wore it in northern Maine last winter during the night to keep me warm in a log cabin and in the day as ski insulation. It's nice and soft so going over long underwear is a great usage. Last summer I hiked for eight+ hours in rain, wind and forty degrees with only this and a rain shell. Despite the weather I was not chilled by the end. It's very breathable so sweat was never a problem.
I have taken it on every backpacking trip for the last year because of its light weight and I've never bothered to try and outdo it on weight.
It's nice and stretchy so climbing/rock scrambling is easy in it.
Overall this is an often overlooked but great product.

Really comfortable and great at knocking off the chill whether indoors or out. I wore it almost every day in late winter, early spring. I plan to get lots of use out of it this fall as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Comments about The North Face TKA 100 Glacier Quarter-Zip Top - Men's:
My gripes with the newest version of this fleece is that I have three older ones that I love and this new one ('07/08) doesn't measure up, literally. I have one that is maybe four years old that is very long in the sleeves (I'm a 37" sleeve) and ample through the body. I liked it enough to buy two more in early '07. The sleeves were slightly shorter but still adequate, the body more fitted but still okay. I bought this one and the color was not at all as pictured, which is okay, but the sleeves were short and it pulls funny across the back and upper sleeves when I lift my arms, so it's going back. I love the other versions so if you're not overly tall it might work for you. I love my earlier years versions so I would recommend it to a friend with the advise of trying it on first to be sure it fits your body type. For the Colorado mountains it's something you can wear pretty much year round.

I ordered a medium though I usually order large. The jacket is true to size - it is not larger than regular size as another reviewer suggested. Looks stylish, feels wonderful to wear. Warm enough for 50 degree Bay Area weather. It has picked up a few stains so I'm worried about cleaning it. But I highly recommend this jacket to anyone that's looking for a stylish, lightweight winter jacket. It's great for layering as well.

This is truely the most versatile peice of sportswear that I own. I can wear this pullover on cool mornings here in Florida for cycling or offshore fishing, to skiing in Utah or ice climbing in New England.
Makes a perfect non bulky warm layer under a shell.
I've washed the thing over 50 times and the fleece does not pill up. My buddies pit bull even grabbed the sleve and about pulled it off my back, but it came through with not even a tooth hole. The thing is tough. Buy one.

I have no complaints. I should have bought 2 to be with. Mine is a two tone, black and a dark greyish color striping on the sleeves and shoulder.
I where is for warmth over shirts on cool mornings and then forget to take it off. It provides warmth in cooler conditions, but does not over power you with heat when you go indoors. My point is, is that it breaths so well that you do not have to immediately shed it upon going indoors. I end up wearing mine all day long.
It also permforms well as a thin layer under a shell. It seems to be a great alternative to bulky winter coats this way.
Service and delivery comments:
Customer service at the store was awesome. Raleigh, NC location. The young lady was very knowledgable on proper fit for this shirt.

This is a great, mid weight fleece. I recently used it as a mid-layer for a backpacking trip in Wisconsin. It was really comfortable and kept me warm over a base layer while packing in the 40 degree weather. It also works fine as an outer layer around town when its a bit warmer. This is a great product that I would definetely buy again.

I bought mine as a replacement for my jacket at work. I work in a night club so its is a pain to run around the club with a bulky jacket on. With this pull over it doesn't matter if I am in side or out side I am toasty.
I bought another one for my mother to wear around the house and to wear while she goes on walks. I haven't heard her complain about the cold since.

This is my fourth TKA 100. I buy one every year. It is a great all around, flexible fleece. I've worn it backpacking in the Sierra, coaching soccer, and lounging around the house. You will wear this all weekend, every weekend throughout Fall, Winter and Spring. Try it, you'll love it.

Comments about The North Face TKA 100 Glacier Quarter-Zip Top - Men's:
I purchased this fleece before going out to Glacier National Park this summer, and I was not disappointed. I wore it every morning for ten days, and it was perfect for starting the hike until the sun crested the mountains and the day warmed up. The fit is great for a middle layer - it's breathable enough to wear over a moisture-wicking shirt, but snug enough to wear under a jacket without hampering movement.
Now that it's fall, I'm buying another one to wear under my soft shell. I figure that anything that I'm willing to purchase twice earns an "A" in my book!
