Comments about REI Traverse Pack - Women's:
I absolutely love this backpack! I bought it earlier this year before traveling to East Africa for two weeks.
It fits really well- sits squarely on my hips and has lots of padding. No matter what I put in this bag (laptop, clothes, books), I can handle the load easily for long periods of time. It has lots of pockets for keeping everything organized, and is also small enough to carry on to a plane.
The zipper on this main compartment of the backpack closes in such a way that it is sort of pressed against your back when you are wearing it- great when traveling in areas where theft is a concern. The zippers also have water-resistant seals, so everything stays dry even if you get caught in the rain.

Comments about REI Traverse Pack - Women's:
This is a great backpack, especially for the price. Everything I need for day hiking fits very well inside, and all the different pockets and compartments come in handy. The pouch on the waist strap is the perfect size for my knife, chapstick, and inhaler, which I use frequently during hikes. The side pockets are really convenient for my water bottle, bug spray, and sunscreen. It's really comfortable, even after hours of wear, and I don't sweat too badly where the pack rests against my back.
I also use this pack as my carry-on when I fly, as I like not having to carry anything in my hands. It's big enough to hold books, snacks, and a change of clothes but still small enough to fit underneath an airplane seat.
I just took up hiking recently and I didn't want to invest a lot of money in equipment right off the bat. I bought this pack because it was one of the cheapest, and it has turned out to be a great value.

Comments about REI Traverse Pack - Women's:
I have used the traverse pack for carryon luggage, dayhiking, and as a suitcase. Works great for everything! It is very comfortable, and quite spacious! Currently I use it for hauling textbooks, jacket, lunch, & various stuff. I did much product comparison prior, and I am very pleased with this pack. Very well constructed, and looks nice, as well. I highly recommend this REI pack.

Comments about REI Traverse Pack - Women's:
This pack has a lot of room and high adjustablility. Took it on a hike I was physically unprepared for, and felt very comfortable and non-binding, once properly adjusted for fit. I am very short waisted, so at first assumed the proper spot for the belt was at the small of my back. I immediately felt pain. Once I remembered backpacker[@] fitting tips and lowered the belt to sit the weight on my hip bones, the pack fit like a dream and I had absolutely no back pain. It was almost fully loaded with a full camelback bladder and discarded jackets (it was a strenuous climb). I am not in good shape, and hadn't worn a backpack in over 27 years , so for me to say this pack was comfortable from the beginning is a big deal. Also got wet from Yosemite's mist trail, and the contents stayed dry. Shoulder and waist straps were comfortable and adjustable for larger waists, and combined with the hydration compartment hook for hanging the reservoir, made it a better buy than the usually smaller and less comfortable cambelback packs.

Comments about REI Traverse Pack - Women's:
I've been very pleased with this pack. I bought it a year ago for my four months of travel in Africa and did a lot of research before making the purchase. I haven't been disappointed. I am a writer and have to carry my laptop and numerous books around with me a lot, so I was looking for a reasonably-sized backpack that supported the load and helped protect my shoulders/neck from feeling the strain. This one has done that job well.
I've been particularly pleased with the number and placement of pockets/organizing sections. Just the right number. The side mesh pockets work great for water bottles. I like the top front pockets because they can hold a book or snacks for easy access while traveling.
I recently tried on my old Jansport bookbag backpack again and almost laughed at the difference. There's no way I can go back to that ever. Also, my torso is pretty small, and this pack still fits me well. It's very adjustable, which is great, though it can take a bit of work to figure out just the right position for all the straps.
After a year of use, this pack still looks great and still maintains its support structure. It's a good value for the price, for sure.

Comments about REI Traverse Pack - Women's:
This pack is great! It gives me all the room I need to store my gear (and I have a lot of it!) with ample storage and compartments for quick reach. This is great when there's a little bit of walking or hiking needed to get to a dig site, and the straps are nice and comfy. I just add my hydration pack and I'm good to go for water too. Nicely made for a woman.

Comments about REI Traverse Pack - Women's:
I bought this backpack to use during my field work in a rainforest in Brazil. I was surprised because I loaded it with a lot of heavy gear and I couldn’t feel that I was carrying such amount of weight. I could walk for hours without any problem. And it gets better…I went trough some rainy days and I was with some valuable gear inside. Everything was safe due to the backpack impermeability and after several days doing field work the backpack was still like new (only dirty). I was planning to leave it in Brazil for the next field seasons but I decided to wash it and bring it back to use here in US. I cannot think about any backpack to replace it. The last good thing…the price!

I saw this pack and i was in love! it is great to use for school. The hip belt is just enough to take the heavy burden off my shoulder. I like having it being a top load and that zippers not going all that way down. This is a great back for just even some of the simple uses o big ones.

Comments about REI Traverse Pack - Women's:
The pack is designed well for a woman's torso and it stays put while you are biking. The cons are that the main compartment is not that big. If you are going to use this pack to transport books, not that many will fit. Also, I wish the outer fabric were a bit more durable.

Comments about REI Traverse Pack - Women's:
Well I just purchased this backpack today, I love it! It's super comfortable, not too big, not too small. The only gripe I have is that the hip belt doesn't tuck away when I don't feel like using it, but I worked out a system where I just tuck it behind my back, it wont be completely comfortable, but it will work. Other than that I love this pack. Rei makes the best products, thank you!
