Comments about REI Quick UL 45 Pack - Women's:
Lots of great organizing features: side pockets for water bottles, small pockets in hip belt, large slit outside pocket for maps and a book, two compartments in top flap for all sorts of stuff. Plenty of cool cords to hook things to.
I'm an average sized women - 5'5 135 lbs, got a size medium and still could not tighten the hip belt enough. The worst problem was not enough padding or ill adjustment of the shoulder straps. I couldn't fit the hip belt to take most of the weight, so after a 4 day backpack, my shoulder blades were pretty sore.
I'm going to have to look for something else.

Comments about REI Quick UL 45 Pack - Women's:
I recently returned this pack. I bought it for an UL alternative to an older backpack I used primarly for rockclimbing and hiking. It is ultra-light but at the expense of comfort. The back of the hip band felt like solid metal and dug into my back. A little more padding on the hip belt would be a great improvement. I returned the pack and bought the Gregory Jade ... 10 oz heavier but a lot more comfortable.

Comments about REI Quick UL 45 Pack - Women's:
I am 5'5" with a slight frame and when it came time to buy a new pack, I wanted something light that fit me properly. I was tired of all of the extra pockets which only added weight and bulk and when I put this pack on, I knew it was the winner. My only criticism would be the cinch down system. There are loops on the sides of the packs which I put some webbing through to create a more compact cinch effect. Other than that, it's great, lightweight and simple the best way to hike.

Comments about REI Quick UL 45 Pack - Women's:
Although I grew up hiking and camping, I am new to it as an adult. I was looking for something light, well made, and inexpensive. I am short, 5'2", so it was such a relief to put this pack on and have it fit!! The make different sizes for "normal" size people too, so don't worry if you're taller. I think it's the best value for the money, I looked around a lot, and the goal was to get something as light as possible for as cheap as possible. I was pleasantly surprised at what this pack had to offer for the money. Good job REI!

Comments about REI Quick UL 45 Pack - Women's:
I brought this pack for a three week trip to New Zealand and managed to fit everything I needed for several 3-4 day tramps. This pack just fit everything I needed to stay in the huts. Note: I did not bring a sleeping pad, tent or stove and I don't think there would have been room with everything I had. My pack ended up being extremely light but the lack of padding caused some soreness. Some shoulder padding would do wonders for overall comfort.

Comments about REI Quick UL 45 Pack - Women's:
My wife bought this pack hoping to get into the ultra-lite line of backpacking, but was soon severely disappointed. After loading it with less than one night's worth of basic ultra-lite gear, ran out of room for the tent. She decided to load it on anyway. As soon as it was on she had to take it off because the stay that runs down the back dug into her sacrum. She had to call off the day's outing, and get massage work done to get back to normal. Took it back to the store when they opened.
REI should look into making gear for "curvier" women.

Comments about REI Quick UL 45 Pack - Women's:
This pack was perfect for a two day hike. I had plenty of room for everything I needed. When trying on packs, I found this pack much more comfortable than some of the pricier packs I tried. It's also comes in sizes small enough for petite ladies like me.

Comments about REI Quick UL 45 Pack - Women's:
I bought this pack (the men's version) just before a hike into the Grand Canyon in July. It was very comfortable for a 35 lb load, and was easily adjustable. The one drawback is the single, exterior strap on the outside attaching the top flap of the pack. This is too flimsy. When grabbing this pack at airports and on the river, this was the easiest strap to grab when moving packs around. I doubt the strap and clasp will survive very long. Also, the pockets on the side were also too small for even my smallest water bottle. Otherwise a nice pack for the money.

It may be for woman, but when I saw it for [$], I said why not? So I bought it and just recently used it, and it's great, even on a guy it fits good.

This bag is awesome. It's so light by itself, and you can cram a ton of gear into it. Only drawbacks are that there is only on way into the main compartment (top) it would be nice to have a zipper down the side. And there aren't any daisychains or many loops to attach your gear. I jimmyrigged some straps on there, and that works well.
DEFINITELY have someone at REI help you size a pack and tell you where/how to wear it! I almost killed my shoulders after fifteen minutes of hiking because I was wearing it too low. After I figured it out though, it was great. :P
