Comments about Black Diamond Deploy 7 Snow Shovel:
This shovel is well shaped and has a strong/sharp enough tip to dig through anything. It is great in the backcountry, because of its weight and versatility. You should definitely go out and by one! The natural curve allows itself to a better dig and although the length on the shovel it not as long as others, the power is noticeably better!

Comments about Black Diamond Deploy 7 Snow Shovel:
We wanted a shovel that would last for years and years and we decided to get the best available. We have not been disappointed. We used it last year up at Snoqualmie pass where the snow was over 10 feet. It is lightweight and hooks to our backpack or the back of our snowmobile easily.

Comments about Black Diamond Deploy 7 Snow Shovel:
I enjoy how it easily rips through tough snow unlike the smaller shovels on the market. I do however notice that the blade prevents a good clean cut for snow pits (easily fixable with hand), and has a back breaking shaft. If you are looking for a minimalist shovel this is not for you.

Comments about Black Diamond Deploy 7 Snow Shovel:
When our Search and Rescue Unit went on a winter survival training mission last year, I had no clue what to get, and it was pure luck that I happened on this shovel. Thank God I did, because it saved my rear. The shovel performed great in the snow, and I was able to dig a very comfortable cave in about three hours. The blade and handle are very sturdy, and the shaft is the perfect length; long enough to get good leverage, but short enough to be easily manuverable. Aside from the price, which I thought was a little steep, this is a perfect shovel.

Comments about Black Diamond Deploy 7 Snow Shovel:
Nice sturdy shovel that packs up nicely. It has a very solid blade and handle that slides down into itself and fits easily into a pack for backcountry adventures.
