Comments about Coghlan's Time and Temperature Digital Dangler:
This product is simply not durable and will end up as landfill soon.
I'll admit, my first one I put in the freezer to check the thermometer. Oops. Fried. I think moisture condensation killed it.
Second one, wary of sensitivity, I hung from my backpack and used throughout... the dry warm season. Soon as it got wet? Fried.
I'm not buying more plastic and toxic electronics to use for a few months and throw in a landfill. REI should have done a little more homework on this one.

Comments about Coghlan's Time and Temperature Digital Dangler:
The product has a good feature set: small size, rugged construction, ring for lanyard/carabiner attachment, simple controls, clock with date and alarm, thermometer with high and low temp memory.
Unfortunately it comes up short in several areas:
- The opening around the display is too small so the edges of the display are difficult to read.
- The device does not have a light of any kind to read the display in the dark.
- The alarm is not loud enough to be of any use
- Setting the date/time requires flipping the device over and pressing a tiny flush-mounted button on the back with a pen or stylus. Then flipping it over and pressing the side buttons while watching the display. This back-to-front operation is repeated several times to get all fields set.
- Resetting the device is triggered by holding both side buttons at the same time. This is easy enough that it occasionally happens while the device is in a pocket or in the bottom of a backpack. Most annoying considering how annoying it is to set the thing.
- Not water resistant.
- The unit continues to work but the display is non-functional when temperature drops to around 0*. Could be better considering the intended use.

The only thing this is good for is to keep the kids occupied.

Comments about Coghlan's Time and Temperature Digital Dangler:
Neat little gizmo with lots of features - time, alarm, day/date, and, of course, temperature, and min/max temperature recording.
Good for non-mission critical use. Not especially accurate.

Comments about Coghlan's Time and Temperature Digital Dangler:
For the money this is a good product. It's [$], so what do most of you expect? Also, it's description does not say it is "waterproof" even though many of you criticized it for this. It was called "weather resistant" which to me means little to no exposure to weather is best.
Comments about Coghlan's Time and Temperature Digital Dangler:
If you don't need an alarm, this product might be useful. If you do need an alarm, buy a different product. The alarm is virtually silent. It's difficult to hear when you're awake, impossible to hear when you're asleep. It's effectively useless.

Comments about Coghlan's Time and Temperature Digital Dangler:
Seemed to work fine until it got wet. It did not last 10 minutes in a light rain.
