Comments about Keen Targhee II eVent Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
I use these mostly for dayhiking. LOVE these boots! I have wide feet and need the roomy footbed that these hikers offer. They are very very light weight compared to most hikers, and waterproof as a bonus! Out of the box, my feet never got a blister or even a hot spot, even after 9 hour hikes. A great overall boot.

Comments about Keen Targhee II eVent Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
This is a very comfortable boot for anyone who has wide feet and high arches. It was comfortable from the start. The sizing does run small compared to US sizing; I had to buy a full size larger but they fit perfectly.

My feet are not wide but I do have a slightly wide forefoot [...]He recommended these Keen boots and right away I could see the toebox looked roomy. I bought some very nice Asolos the year before and they rubbed at the sides and the heel and caused blisters. Usually wear 8.5 in most shoes including another pair of Keens, but bought size 9 for the Hiking boots.I wore them new for 5 days at Yosemite, hiked 19 miles flat, uphills and downhills. Not one blister. Great for the dayhikes as they were lighter than my Asolos, therefore less tiring. So comfy and light that I wear them occasionally for walking on city streets.Added bonus: The "Secure-fit lace capture system" locks the laces so even if they become untied, they don't loosen and are easy to re-tie. Didn't need to double-knot as usual. Enjoyed this small feature!Pros:Roomy toeboxLightweightGood lookingWould definitely buy again!

Comments about Keen Targhee II eVent Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
I purchased these before a 3 month trip in East Africa. Not much time was spent breaking these in, they were a perfect fit for my feet: a bit wide with low arches. These shoes were great walking through the "muck" and mud of the slums when it rained, and i was much more comfortable than my friends wearing wellingtons. Further testimony to their "waterproofness" were my perfectly dry feet after trudging through a vertical bog.
These shoes are supposed to be a bit warm, as they are leather and waterproofed, but with the right socks i was perfectly comfortable wearing them all day in Kenya and Uganda... though when my travels brought me to the top of Mt. Kenya my feet were proper freezing.
as of yet, they've proved very durable. These were the first hiking boots i've ever invested in and i feel no need to try any other.

The flexibility in the sole takes some getting used to, but it helps to feel whats under you more easily: no clunking through the forest needed, you can feel that branch you might have slipped on. The wide box is great if you have duck feet, like me, but my pinkie toe got a little snug after the first two days. Overall, a good boot.

I bought these in mind of an upcoming study trip to Ireland (because it's going to be SUPER rainy there...and I didn't want to have wet tootsies the whole time, while trying to keep up with my quick-footed prof & classmates). I decided to "break them in" before the trip and discovered something amazing: they didn't need to be broken in!!! Not one blister, and I've been wearing them almost every day for a week (and every day was either cold and flash floody or cold and blizzardy). They are amazing & comfy! My feet NEVER got wet...even when I jumped in a puddle and splashed my boyfriend. The toe box is nice for my wide feet too. I am also prone to shin splits, especially when I wear a pair of shoes a lot. I've yet to get shin splits from these because of their support. When I was trying them on at REI in Reno, a lady sitting next to me told me she has a pair and highly recommends them. On her recommendation I bought them, and let me tell you, they are well worth the money.

I bought these boots for a 3 day hike in snow country. Last year I did the same hike with a pair of water resistant Vasques, but they got soaked in the snow, and wet cold feet aren't fun!! So I tried the Keens out and they were great! Comfortable, dry and warm. I didn't get any blisters, even though I wore them for hours on end through some rough country. I even wear them out for errands around winter Fairbanks. Great shoes!

We were going snow tubing so I went to find a pair of shoes that were waterproof and sturdy yet light. These definitely fit the bill. My feet stayed dry and they are so comfortable to wear that I've been wearing them everyday since it's been raining. The wide width is nice too and the ankle support is awesome for day hikes or just general walking. I'm planning on getting a pair of the sandals for a trip early next year. I bought a men's pair similar to these for my husband and he liked them as well. Keens rock!

I volunteered on a farm this summer and was up to my ankles in puddles! Everyone else was wet and miserable and my feet were dry and warm. I can't say enough about these boots I have never had anything that compares to the quality!I wear them now on winter walks in the woods and still, warm and dry!

Broke these in on a four-mile hike/climb, and had no discomfort whatsoever! No problems. They become more flexible, less stiff with wear. They're going to the Andes now....
