The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about REI Mountain 2 Tent:
I am extremely happy with this tent. It has been on three 5+ day treks with me so far. It worked amazing in the snow, the mountains, the sand, the rain, the wind... I have put this tent through a lot and it has not let me down yet. The only negative thing that I can say about it is that it is a bit heavy, but not by much compared to other tents of this class. I would highly recommend the the tent foot print. This is an amazing tent for winter adventures...

Comments about REI Mountain 2 Tent:
I just Put this tent through a Weekend Downpour, and the tent stayed bone dry inside. Set up the tent in the dark, under a tarp in driving rain, no problems.
The vestibule is THE reason to own this tent. It is large and dry. Stashed wet equipment in the vestibule with Coleman gas lantern at half throttle to dry things out (vent for fumes).
45 degrees with pouring rain (57 degrees inside) and the only wet spot was where the fly was touching the tent at the opposite door(tent wasnt taught enough, my bad). I use the footprint AND a ground tarp. My only suggestions for improvement would be hang loops inside of vestibule and a loop to pull fly away from rear door. Yes, the tent is considered heavy, but the extra 3-4 pounds (to me) are worth the comfort. Be advised this tent is NOT for hot WX. This tent is a solid value.

Comments about REI Mountain 2 Tent:
I purchased this tent about a year ago and have used it in the mountains of Colorado with great success. This tent has accompanied me on many snowshoeing trips and backpacking trips where we woke up to a foot of new snow. It has always felt warm, sturdy, and has always kept the wind out of the tent. The vestibule, combined with a poncho or fire blanket on the bottom keeps all of my gear dry without taking up valuable space inside. It will sleep two average guys somewhat comfortably but I prefer sleeping in it alone. Tent is a tad heavy for use during the summer as a whole but can make a pretty good ultra light shelter using the rain fly for summer camping trips. Tent seems durable, however I would highly recommend the footprint as I do not believe the bottom the tent would hold up well, or at the very least keep water out if were to use it without the footprint more than a couple times. Overall this is an amazing tent, especially when you consider the price.

Comments about REI Mountain 2 Tent:
Primarily used for M/C touring. Has endured extreme summer/fall weather. Fast set-up, handles high winds. Tends to collect condensation on the underside of the fly with select atmospheric conditions, but the inside of the tent never got damp. Easily holds all m/c gear for one person....best tent I've used....

Comments about REI Mountain 2 Tent:
This tent is everything I was hoping it would be!! I bought this tent for my dog and I. Yes it will be a little cramped for two, but what tent isn't? Very roomy for the length. Just perfect, in fact, for my frame (6'2" 200lbs). The fly is fine. It has great ventalation. My only quarrels are; it could use a couple more stakes for the extra guylines, and the hook for the hub needs to be made of a better material. It kept falling out of the hub, so I tryed to bend it. It broke, but that's something I can fix myself with no effort! Loving the attic and storage pockets! All in all, A terrific tent. Can't go wrong!!

Comments about REI Mountain 2 Tent:
Great bad weather tent. Designed for high wind and heavy snow-load conditions. Typical space for a 4-season 2-person tent. Ventilation is outstanding and vestibule space is unbeatable. Tent is rigid when set up and will withstand punishing winds. However, tent is heavy. If you want a bomber shelter with great features, choose this tent.

Comments about REI Mountain 2 Tent:
This tent works great! The first time out it survived 50 MPH winds with no problems at all. It is very sturdy, warm, and easy to set up. I recommend setting it up at home to ensure easy set up in the field. I purchased this tent as a hunting base camp tent for extended stays in the Sierras. It has proven to be much better than other tents I have used in the past that fold in heavy winds. I camp solo, so there is plenty of room for one person. Two folks could get by, but it might be a bit tight. The vestibule is great for keeping all your gear out of the rain/snow.
Not a backpacking tent, but great for everything else.

Comments about REI Mountain 2 Tent:
I rented the Mt.2 so I could try it out before I bought it. Setting up the shell was a breeze and is a very sturdy construction. It is definitely a one person tent with room for your equipment, or two people that are very crowded. When it comes to the rain fly it has some issues. Regardless how you tie it out the fly always touches the side of the tent, which in the right conditions could lead to condensation and wet equipment. I would think twice before buying this tent until they fix that design flaw.

Comments about REI Mountain 2 Tent:
When I bought this tent, the salesperson at [...]said that it would be a great backpacking tent for the winter, so I figured the guy knew what he was talking about. This tent packs like it sleeps 8 people, it is huge for a winter tent. Another problem with it is, built into the fly is a pole, so you Cannot stuff this bag into a stuff sack. But if you are looking for a nice Basecamp tent, with lots of room, that is very sturdy, I would reccomend this. But if you are looking for a compact, 4 season tent, you should probably look elsewhere.

Comments about REI Mountain 2 Tent:
This tent was awesome for the $$, kept us dry during a downpour, and wasnt't going anywhere with the guy lines. DO REMEMBER to open the vents when possible to avoid condensation on the inner tent. It was small, but we opted for the 2 man vs. the 3 man to conserve on weight for future backpacking trips. We were warm, dry, and comfortable in 30 degree rainy weather.
The only thing that was cumbersome for me was the the fly entrance.
The ONLY reason why I didn't give this 5 stars is because of weight....but expect to spend 300+ more for a lighter 4 season tent. This was awesome for the money.
