      This bag is truly water proof, and can endure all New England weather conditions. It has been great, especially as a female. Most bags haven't been designed with our "chest" in mind, they took all comfort measures to make sure that is not an issue. The padding on the back of the bag is super soft and is holding up, not flattening out at all over time. I would suggest this bag to any cycling human, I ride with mine everysingle day in Boston! Love it! Keep up the great products REI!!!!

      My wife and I looked for something that didn't scream Diaper Bag. We both wanted comfort and something quick that we can throw on our shoulder and go. It is also nice that once it's on, you dont have to worry about it sliding off your shoulder.

        caring a laptop and accessing the bag without taking it off is as simple as walking. The extra strap that goes around the waist is perfect for when I ride my motorcycle, giving me that extra sense of security. For me Their are enough compartments but it could use one more for those occasions or moments you need to keep something separate. It does lack a water bottle holder and the laptop compartment could be better padded.

          Why, oh, why can't I find a bag that fits me and my laptop that won't slide all over the place when I'm riding my bike? This bag is for big guys. Ladies, don't even think about it.

            This sling bag holds more than it might appear at first. It is also more comfortable than one might think a sling (i.e., one primary strap) style bag would be, especially if you use the waist cinch. But two things about this bag make it far superior to a messenger bag or conventional backpack for in-city travel. First, unlike a backpack, one can swing the bag around to the front of the body to access the interior without taking one strap off. This is incredibly handy on a subway or anywhere you may sit against a backrest and also ensures your bag's contents are safe. Two, there is not the large cumbersome overflap found on messenger bags (i.e., the main compartment seals with a zipper).

            I got this bag today on clearance at the local REI store and the weather is snowing hard, and about 10 degrees out. I loaded it up to take the dog for a long winter walk and it was extremely nice to have a bag that I can flip around to get the dogs bags, and water bottle out. I also love the waterproof zips and they are actually easy to open and close. Most waterproof zips are pain in the behind. I am 6'2" and weigh about 242 pounds and this is the first courrier bak I have ever owned that not only fits, but stays secure while moving due to the secure strap. My current sling bag slides around on my back when I am riding my bike and is a little small but this bag is great. The only thing is the laptop bag is too small for my laptos so I used it to store my sofshell pants. I also recently purchased the Men's REI Traverse backpack. Another great REI bag.
