Comments about The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket - Women's:
north face products used to be among the best for outdoor activities of the more demanding sort. women's clothing once had the same features as the men's. As a fairly new owner of this jacket in its most recent incarnation, i could not recommend it as a serious hiking/climbing/trekking piece of apparel. it does not measure up to comparably priced garments from marmot or mountain hardware. when did north face decide to eliinate the pit zips in the women's version of this jacket? the nylon shoulder and chest application is a less durable material than previously. the fleece has the texture and appearance of that which covers cheap carnival prize stuffed animals and the colors for women are too much in the pastel or "electric" spectrum (remember the bizarre purple of last year's version). Two hours in the woods or climbing and those pastels are filthy. Next time (should there be one}, i'll get the men's jacket and simply roll up the sleeves. At least i'll havepit zips to stay cool.

Comments about The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket - Women's:
To all those who find fault with the Denali regarding the following: not waterproof, not windproof - here's a suggestion, try a shell not a 300 weight fleece. Yeah, the Denali is regrettably very trendy and every college kid laps it up, but it does NOT have Windstopper and the only water resistance is DWR. Its a basic Polartec fleece, folks. Its meant for layering beneath a shell in cold, windy, or wet conditions, or can be worn alone in chilly, still ones.
Being a fleece, it does does attract fur, but that's the nature of a polyester insulator. I have a white dog and an ivory Denali - it's only common sense.
What makes the Denali especially versatile and durable are the hardshell panels that cover the shoulders and elbows. Normal fleeces pill and wear out in these areas.
All in all, if you know what it's made of and the what it's meant to do and use it as such, it is an excellent, versatile, durable classic insulating layer with a roomy, relaxed fit. If, however, you expect of it qualities that are not in keeping with its components, you will be sorely disappointed.

Comments about The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket - Women's:
I love this jacket. I've gave it a good thrashing in Patagonia (using it as a rag, a chair, a towel, etc) and despite all the abuse I've put it through (including thorn bushes) it looks new. I've worn it in a lot of wet weather and think it's perfectly water resistant... I just wish it was wind resistant - the wind goes right through. I also wish there was a pocket on the inside of the jacket (for money and a passport). Aside from these two complaints, the durability is impressive enough that if I had to replace this jacket, I'd buy the same one.

Comments about The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket - Women's:
I bought this jacket in Black from the north face store because it's become very popular at my school. It runs small, so I had to get it one size bigger than usual.
My biggest problem with it is that it ATTRACTS FUR LIKE NO OTHER. My dog sheds a lot of fur, and this jacket picks up fur faster than any lint remover. We try to quarantine my jacket from the rest of the house, but its difficult to do, and its impossible to get all the hair off [washing it does nothing].
Also, it does tend to be very bulky during travel
I LOVE THIS JACKET, though. SO WARM! SO COMFY!
I would DEFINITELY BUY THIS JACKET AGAIN [and am planning too!], but I will get a lighter color, in the hopes that fur wont show up as much.
I've worn this in the snow, and found it was MORE than enough for spring skiing, and I got slightly cold when I wore skiing in January (the coldest time), because it is thin for a snow jacket.

Comments about The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket - Women's:
I got this product as something to keep me warm in the fall between classes, as well as when my boyfriend and I go hiking/backpacking. So far, the jacket is great! It is nice and warm and fuzzy, which is great. It really is one of those jackets you want to put on because it feels good! All of the zippers work well, however, I do agree with previous reviewers in saying I wish it had an inside pocket, however, that really isn't a big deal. It fits trueish to size. I am 5'4 petite (about 115 lbs) and I have a size small. It tends to be a little large in the torso/chest, but the rest seems to fit well. The one big complaint I have about this jacket is that it is not, I repeat NOT, windproof at all! All of the nice cozy warmth you build up inside will disappear if you step into a drafty area, which is a pain considering UW-Madison is positioned right between to windy lakes. However, if I had to do it again, I would still get this jacket.

Comments about The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket - Women's:
I purchased this as a mid layer to pair with the North Face Varius guide jacket/shell for our November trip to Yosemite and beyond. This is what this fleece is designed for...layering. Those that expected a waterproof fleece simply do not understand the basic properties of different types of fabrics. That said, this treated fleece will shed some water, like mist (like that along the Mist Trail in November), but it is totally unreasonable to expect it to keep you dry in a downpour. This jacket is also very warm, but breathable. The nylon on the shoulders are there to protect the fleece from the straps of a backpack. The womens' version, for some reason, comes with less pockets than the mens' version. The combination of the Denali and Varius makes a great packing alternative to carrying a heavy parka along with a lighter weight jacket.

Comments about The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket - Women's:
Myself, along with many other men and women know that this is one of the most amazing jackets made by North Face. At first glance the $[$]price tag seems steep, but I honestly believe that it is a great value (especially if you get it on sale). It is a jacket that can be worn alone or under a shell, I have a burton shell and it zips in perfectly! It is perfect for everyday wear. I am 5'6", size 2, and the small fits quite well, I like to layer so it's nice to have the extra space, but if you prefer a closer fit I would recommend an x-small.

Comments about The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket - Women's:
This jacket is great for cool weather. I usually wear it when it's in the 40s and not windy, or colder if I have a warm shirt underneath. It fits well and looks good, though the sleeves could be a little longer. It's not good when it's windy as the wind goes right through. Otherwise a great jacket that's not bulky.

Comments about The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket - Women's:
I bought a North Face Denali jacket 14 years ago and am still wearing - almost daily during the winter (it's getting thin now). I've wanted to replace it for the past few years, but unfortunately, North Face reduced the # pockets from 4 to 3. I bought an EMS 4 pocket jacket but the pockets just weren't quite right. The man's 4 pocket is too long in the arms and too big across the back.
