Comments about REI CoolMax Liner Socks:
For years I've worn polypro socks while hiking, and these are the most satisfying. The best socks are ones you don't notice, and these rate high in that regard.
I hiked over 40 miles in the Rocky's wearing these, REI Merino Wool socks, and boots that fit me well, and I didn't get a single hotspot or blister. I had a buddy who got two bad blisters on that trip. He bought two pairs of these the day after we got back.
One tip: turn these socks inside out before you wear them so the seam doesn't rub your toes.
An excellent sock at an excellent value.

Comments about REI CoolMax Liner Socks:
The seam that covers the top of the toe is horrible. After about mile 12 of a hike you might as well have bunched up a couple strands of fishing line and let them grind away on the top of your toes. I like the Coolmax fabric but will definitely be looking at where the HARD seams are in my next pair of socks.

Comments about REI CoolMax Liner Socks:
I use these when I am wearing heavier socks, especially while backpacking. At the campsite they make great camp socks (when wearing lighter shoes) as they are light, airy, and comfortable. They dry quickly and clean up well.

No matter how short the hike, I have learned to ALWAYS wear these liners. Thet are very comfortable and save my feet from blisters.

Comments about REI CoolMax Liner Socks:
I've worn these on multiple backpacking trips as well as many, many dayhikes. In Florida sweaty feet can be a problem. Not with these. They wick away any moisture that I throw at it. No hot spots or blisters what-so-ever. They're easy to wash and dry fast so you really only need 2-3 pairs. The seam could pose a problem but I wear them inside out so the seam doesn't rub on my feet. At [$] each you can't beat 'em. I just wish they came in a small as I have small feet. Other than that great socks.

Comments about REI CoolMax Liner Socks:
I wore these socks under my regular smartwool hiking socks for a week long backpacking trip in the Rockies. They did a great job of not sticking to the wool socks like some polypro ones do. They prevented rubbing that would've eventually lead to blisters, also kept my feet warm and dry. My only complaint is they both got runs up the side on day two, though this didn't really impact the function of them it was annoying.

Comments about REI CoolMax Liner Socks:
These socks are really great--I actually wear them with my boots when riding my motorcycle in the summer. They aren't cushy at all, but they do keep my feet cool, which is a must when you need to be in your boots all day.
