Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse 2 Tent:
This tent is perfect for any 3-season backpacking trip. A two person tent that's only 4 pounds is an incredible find; the price only adds to the appeal. After purchasing this I noticed how thin the tent material is. But even though the material is thin the tent will stand up to anything, just make sure you have a footprint.
Because the entire top of the tent is made of mesh you will not have a problem with condensation. You will however have a problem on windy nights. The design of the rainfly allows wind to draft up the sides of the tent. For that same reason if it's windy and rainy you're in real trouble.
Don't use this if it will be cold and windy. Don't use this if it will be windy and rainy.
Other than that this tent is a great buy for the price!

Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse 2 Tent:
I'd like to thank REI for taking back this tent. Great service. I'm a student that decided to go camping, back-packing, and fly-fishing most of the summer. I bought this tent for the trip and it didn't last. Don't think because it has a life-time warranty that you won't send or take it back because of failure. While I was setting it up for shelter for a severe thunderstorm, the fly ripped forming a hole I could drive a Mack truck through. I couldn't hike out because it got dark before the storm was over and I was in grizzly country. I was lucky I wasn't still above timberline when the storm hit. Good for car camping, or as a disposable tent. If used enough, the materials will ultimately fail on you[...] I'll never trust Big Agnes above timberline again.

Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse 2 Tent:
I have really enjoyed this tent; lightweight, great protection, idiot-proof set-up and well made. It is snug though, and if you share it with another you had better have a good relationship. It is a wonderful 1 person tent, allowing enough room to bring some gear inside. I did not find it to be any warmer than sleeping outside-- probably because of the way air can work up under the fly on the sides, and with the tent walls like a giant pair of pantyhose, there is no insulation factor at all. All in all, one of my favorite tents.

Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse 2 Tent:
I've had this tent for about a year, it's fast and easy to set up, light weight, and packs down nice and small. I'm 6'1" and about 200 lbs., my wife and I fit fine in the tent but it is a little cramped, not bad though. That said, I wouldn't want to have to try and fit with another guy my size. As a solo tent it's very comfortable and roomy. Very stable in high winds. Oh, and the vestibule rocks.

Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse 2 Tent:
I've had this tent for a couple of years. My girlfriend 5'10 120lbs and I 6' 200lbs have used it as a two person and it is too cramped. We've since purchased a three person I've started using this one as a solo and love it. I've been rained, hailed, snowed on and it has not leaked. It is of course heavier than a one person but you'll be happy you have it once you reach your destination. Very roomy for one person including gear.

Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse 2 Tent:
This is the best backpacking tent that I have used by far. I nearly spent the extra $100 bucks for the ultra light version but decided to lug the extra pound instead. Negative comments are coming from people using this tent as a car camping shelter...It's for light weight backpacking. Obviously the walls aren't going to be as thick as a 10 lb car camping tent. I spent over 100 night in this tent on the AT with the lady and never tore the mess or fly at all. Comfy for 2(leave the gear in the vestibule), can set up fly first in the rain then put tent up with out getting wet, it's up in moments, never gotten wet in it... LOVE IT!

Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse 2 Tent:
This is not a good tent to be in if it rains. If you unzip the fly enough to get out lots of rain drips into the tent, right on your formerly dry sleeping bag. Anything in the vestibule gets wet too. The tent works fine in Big Bend where it doesn't rain much but not in Colorado where it rains often. Of course in Big Bend you usually don't need a tent. If you're in and zipped up when the rain starts, and you don't get out until it quits, you're OK except for some drips when you open up.
Small clips between the fly and tent body must be hooked to shape body properly, but they are a real pain to get hooked. They need to be replaced with something that works.
Room is OK for two people who zip their bags together and not bad considering the weight.
The olive drab color reminds me of Army surplus but the light weight sure doesn't! The tent seems flimsy but so far has held up OK.
This tent is OK for places where you probably won't need a tent. Don't take it places where it rains.

Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse 2 Tent:
This tent is light, and so easy to set up. I'd never set up a tent on my own before this, but I figured it out no problem.
We tried it out the first time in a rain storm, with lots of wind going around. The rain fly tends to flap about making some noise, and it let in a slight breeze. We weren't cold, so it still insulates quite well. It probably got into the low 40s during the night. It was just a bit annoying. Aside from that though, I really enjoyed this tent.

Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse 2 Tent:
I used this tent on a 2 week backpacking trip through north-east New Mexico and the tent performed like a champ. Enduring golf-ball sized hail and 50 mph gusts without a problem. The full mesh was a great feature on dry nights and I really liked the vestibule. Also, there was plenty of space for me and my buddy.

Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse 2 Tent:
I needed a new tent. REI had this beauty in the store set up, and I feel in love. Well, I really liked it. It is so light that it makes a 2 person tent for one person practical. It's watertight, and roomy. Last May there was a bad thunderstorm that left my tent "floating" in a large puddle. I figured I was in for a wet night...cause it was a lot of water. I was super relieved to look in inside and find everything dry as a bone. That really made me trust this thing. Friends of mine have solo tents that weigh more and offer half the space. Set up is a piece of cake two. I can set this thing up really quickly. I'd be honest though and say that two people would really have to squeeze in here, but for one, it's huge. Good tent.
