Comments about GSI Hard Anodized Dutch Oven - 5 Quart:
The smooth anodized surface is easy to clean and care for, compared to the cast iron ovens that I've used. The apple crisp we made came out perfect. It's relatively lightweight and won't rust.
The handle for the bottom is just like the ones on the cast iron versions, a thick steel wire. The handle for the lid is also steel, about the same diameter as the other handle. It appears to be secured to the lid by small steel pins (i.e., the pins are imbedded in the cast aluminum.) If anything, those may be the only weak points since they could, in theory, corrode and possibly allow the handle to pull out. But I'm not too worried about it.

Comments about GSI Hard Anodized Dutch Oven - 5 Quart:
For vehicle or boat based trips, this Dutch Oven adds awesome variety back country cuisine. We have baked so many things in it and they come out as good or better than our oven at home! Fresh baked Chocolate brownies in the middle of the Sahara anyone?

Comments about GSI Hard Anodized Dutch Oven - 5 Quart:
Excellent kit - cleans up well and seems to reatin heat similar to the cast iron models - and is much lighter. Food still marks it when burned on but thats all part of using a dutch oven. Nice not to have to keep seasoning and watching out for rust.
