Comments about Giro Indicator Bike Helmet:
This helmet is a great value, the removable visor makes it great for road use, it vents pretty good, it adjusts easily, & most importantly it works when you need it.
I flipped head first onto the road at 30mph with this helmet on and suffered no head injury. So when you need it, it will work.

Comments about Giro Indicator Bike Helmet:
This is probably a great helmet for most people given the ease of adjustment. However Giro/Bell chose not to recess the strap guide at the rear inside of the helmet. Also, the padding is thin. For me, my head contacts the plastic guide rather than the pads. Check out the fit in this area. The Bell Venture is similar in many ways, but recesses the guide, and has more fore/aft space, so that is what I am going with.

Comments about Giro Indicator Bike Helmet:
Bought two of these for me (new Novara Corsa)and husband (new Novara Metro). Boy, are helmets better than the last ones we bought 19 years ago! Spiffier design/appearance, lighter weight. The strap system, however, is still just as squirrely as ever; if you're lucky, you'll get it adjusted just right the first time. Otherwise be prepared to mess and fiddle with it for a while til you're happy; nothing really negative about this particular helmet because they're all like that. The Indicator comes in one universal size; and the rotary adjustment at the back is a real advancement; it should probably be the final thing you tweak after getting the rest of it all fixed so the helmet sits properly on your noggin. Open it up to its loosest position and re-tighten from there. And once it's done, it's done permanently. Now go for a ride!

Comments about Giro Indicator Bike Helmet:
I am a bit of an old school bike rider...as in getting me to wear a helmet is like putting teeth back in. I finally broke down because I have a triathlete friend that has made me realize that helmetless riders are the fools. Another friend had a spill and smashed his all to pieces, but is just fine, so I knew it was time. I shopped way too long and hard for this helmet; for the money, it's as good as it gets. Not a big giant mushroom head, it's sleek and so lightweight that it's a joy to wear. It gets a bit hot, but being my first helmet, I think it's more that I bought the black one and it's a hot Texas summer, not because of the venting...the vents seem adequate. But this helmet. You won't be disappointed.

Comments about Giro Indicator Bike Helmet:
The back-of-the-head adjustment works great and stays locked in place. Fine woven neck strap doesn't get itchhy. Could use some cooler colors and designs.

Comments about Giro Indicator Bike Helmet:
Used this helmet for an entire summer of commuting after using a 10 year old GT my first year. This helmet is awesome, well ventilated, and comfortable once you get enough pads in (More later on that.) and it is super easy to adjust. It even matched my bike color. I have had no problems with the visor being flimsy and greatly appreciated keeping the sun out of my eyes.
Here is my one gripe: I am bald and often blade the remainder for summer riding. The extra pads are essential to keep bare styrofoam off my skin. Problem is: The extra pads don't stick well. They send 4 and the first 2 fell out within a week and I lost them. I ended up using a high quality glue to glue them in. They have not budged at all since.
I plan to use this helmet for a long time, and I hope they still make this helmet when I need to replace the one I have.

Comments about Giro Indicator Bike Helmet:
I actually own two of these, because I forgot my helmet on a trip to Moab once and bought one there. The fit system is comfortable and works (and adjusts enough to fit over a cap or balaclava). It ventilates well enough. It's a solid helmet and I literally bought it again.

Comments about Giro Indicator Bike Helmet:
I bought this helmet along with my bike in my plans to start commuting to work. Being somewhat of a newbie, by definition, I don't know that I could tell the difference between a $40 helmet and a $100 helmet. If it has to do with how it protects me in a crash.....I hope I never find out what that difference is. For my use it works great.
