The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Outdoor Research Gore-Tex Crocodile Gaiters:
A note to [...], who was dissatisfied with this product, and anyone else who is considering OR crocodile gaiters.I bought a pair of OR crocodile gaiters from REI at least 15 years ago. Wore them regularly every winter. Recently, the seam on the front that holds the velcro to the shell failed. (Truth be told, I probably contributed to the failure because I should have had the next larger size.)Based on info from the OR web site, I learned they have a UNCONDITIONAL GUARANTEE. I simply mailed the old pair to OR, and a couple weeks later, I received a brand new pair, no questions, no hassle.I rated these four stars because they did fail eventually, but this was **far** outweighed by OR's extraordinary service and return policy.

I have owned there for about 4/5 years. They are tough as nails never have had a problem with them. i am out all winter long hiking, camping, snowshoe like crazy, tele ski, and just in the back country of Colorado.i would and do recommended these to any one. I have found that they run a little small i ware a size 10 boot and my gaiters are an XL,but they work on everything from my trail shoe to my tele boots.

Comments about Outdoor Research Gore-Tex Crocodile Gaiters:
I use this snowshoeing here in Utah. I've strapped them on two different shoe types. The XL worked great on my size 13 Salomon XCR Trail Running Shoe's but they didn't quite work out with my size 13 Salomon B52's so I actually returned the XL's and got the XXL's which work out great still on the trail running shoes.
But with the early season snow here in Utah I've been able to get out and test them in different conditions and I am very satisfied. The Gore-Tex is obviously a huge plus and these kept my legs/feet perfectly dry. I'm not sure what took me so long to get these...

Comments about Outdoor Research Gore-Tex Crocodile Gaiters:
I use these every winter and my girlfriend always laughs at me saying how silly I look in them, untill she wore them when we went for a hike in 12" of new powder and all she had was a pair of water proof ankle high boots and jeans. Needless to say we were a bit under dressed but it was a spur of the moment hike. I always keep winter gear in my Jeep and the Gaitors are a part of that gear. Well we all know who wound up wearing them and she just loved them,... You don't need big boots or snow pants when you have these great things in your grear bag!! And now I have to take my girlfriend to [...] buy her own pair, cause that's all she talks about is how much she loved them!!I have used my pair going on the third year now,.. and they still work and look great! I would never leave home in the winter with out them!

Comments about Outdoor Research Gore-Tex Crocodile Gaiters:
Poor quality control led to me getting a pair that came apart at the seams after one use. The stitching was placed too close to the edge of the material and so it came apart. Now I have a giant hole on the front of one of the gaiters. I've been unable to repair it and so I just go out with a [$] product and get wet. Won't be buying OR stuff again.

Comments about Outdoor Research Gore-Tex Crocodile Gaiters:
Seems like most mountaineers prefer the OR Gore-Tex Crocodile. These "Gaiters" are excellent, for climbing in all weather conditions.
The simple design is very sleak and you'll hardly notice them once you're off on the trial.

Comments about Outdoor Research Gore-Tex Crocodile Gaiters:
These gaiters have served me very well on the mountains. They're durable and pack well. My only complaint is that the closure at the bottom SOMETIMES makes the velcro difficult to align, particularly when wearing heavy gloves.

Ii have a pair for both my wife and myself. These gators just don't wear out. I've used them to hike Reineer and Ice Climb in Oury Colorado and they have never had any problems. Simple tip. When you nick a hole throug them with your crampons if it is a half inch or smaller don't bother with the gore tex patch just use tent seam sealer on both sides. It is a much more elastic patch than the gore tex patches and chepaer.

Comments about Outdoor Research Gore-Tex Crocodile Gaiters:
Bought these 3 years ago after going thru the heavy duty gaiters from lesser brands. These worked fine the first 1.5 snow seasons then they began to droop. I think they were stiff enough the first 1.5 seasons to want to "stand up", but are now too pliant to not droop unless tightly fastened below the knee. Whenever they droop I play with the fastener and I have a lot of experience with this now.
One alternative is to tighten the top strap above the calf (right below the knee) as much as possible. Unfortunately, for this to work well seems to require them to be so tight that I begin getting calf cramps. Anything less than "too tight" gets them to stay up for a while and then after a few miles or so one leg or the other and then both droop and end up around my ankles. Again, these were the perfect gaiters for the first 1.5 seasons.
Judging from the other reviews I may be the only person in the world to experience any problems with these gaiters. However, I took them out last weekend for the first time this season and they wound up around my ankles again and again.

Comments about Outdoor Research Gore-Tex Crocodile Gaiters:
These gaiters are made much better than the others sold [...]. The velcro is much thicker, the strap that goes under the boot is also a heavier quality. The gaiters seal very well over boots and do a great job keeping the snow out!!!. Much better than the others I have used!!!
