      After ripping out three pairs of Sierra Designs rain pants, I swtiched to Novara to get a cycling specific pant that would hopefully hold up to the abuse of riding every day in the rain. I have been very pleased with the durability of the Novara express pants, but there is one thing I like better about the design of the Sierra Designs pant. The bottom of the pant hung loose so that it could come down over the top of your shoe, unlike the Novara ones that have elastic at the bottom which channels the rainwater directly into the top of your shoe.       I used this product to do a 4,900 mile cross country trip. In general, it kept me dry when the rain was light. But any steady rain during the day or any heavy rain and I was soaked. If looking for something thats more water proof, I would suggest some higher quality pants.

        Pants fit nicely. I like how the pant legs are not baggy and a velcro ankle strap ensures that pants won't snag in gears or catch wind. Zippers on lower legs makes it possible to put pants on while wearing shoes.

        I bought a size that was too large, it was too tight in the knees area. I roll the waste band twice over and helps. I do love the velcro ankle straps and the durable inside right leg (incase it rubs against the chain.)

          These lightweight pants come are handy in warmer weather bike rides. I own the Novara waterproof pants which are warmer and bullet proof, but the express pants are more forgiving in warmer weather. Love the slim profile and fit. Could use a pocket !

            I'm a 6-foot tall, curvy woman, and finding women's pants that are long enough, or men's pants that are generous enough in the seat, is a challenge. These pants fit me well, with plenty of room for a pair of jeans or a pair of long underwear underneath. They provide enough water/rain protection for my 7-mile commute to/from the office. They don't breathe well, which can make them a little hot in warmer months, but they're great for crisp early spring/winter/late fall riding.
