Comments about Granite Gear High Visibility Coat:
This coat is great for our cold, wet and snowy winter climate. Great water reppellency, wind reppellency, fleece lined for warmth. I have 2 for my dog, one with service dog patches and one without for playtime. They are 3 years old now and the velcro is still good on both... just keep them fastened when not in use, and when in wash. I like the wide bands that fasten the coat onto the dog as it adds to the warmth of the coat. Would be nice to have more chest protection though. Great product!

Comments about Granite Gear High Visibility Coat:
I got one of these for my 55 lb lab mix for hunting season. I took her hiking and biking with it on all fall. I like the fact that it is light weight and doesn't seem to add much warmth to her so she can still keep up with my mountain bike in the fall and I don't have to worry about her getting shot. It doesn't hold water when she splashes through (or lies down) in creeks and stays in place even when she's running all out downhill. I just found another jacket in the right size for my new heeler pup so he can come riding with me during hunting season this year, too!
I used it all hunting season last year and washed it several times and have not had a problem with the velcro not sticking.

Comments about Granite Gear High Visibility Coat:
This would not have been a bad product if the specs on it were accurate: I purchased the "small" size for a daschund / chihuahua mix because there was no "extra small" option. Since the specs on the product said the small was to 17" in length, I figured a 16" pooch would be fine, with an inch of overhang: Well, this "small" should be the "medium" size. The jacket, upon receipt was huge, relatively speaking: unless you're ordering the small for no less than a Lhasa Apso-sized dog, look elsewhere.

Comments about Granite Gear High Visibility Coat:
I bought it b/c it was cheaper and other coats don't fit my Boxer's physique (barrel chest, small waist). It's rainproof and has a warmish liner.
However... The Velcro tab on this coat is already not as "grippy" after 3 monhts of use (as others have pointed out), even though there's no fur stuck in it, and the fabric rips easily. I returned the first coat within a couple of weeks and the replacement coat already has a rip in it. We used it for city walking and hiking in the woods. Also, the way it's designed around the chest means that my dogs formerly mama nipples at the top are exposed -- I have to use a t-shirt underneath the coat as an extra layer in colder weather.
If you're just walking in the city and the weather isn't too cold or your dog has thicker fur, it's probably a good buy for the price.

Comments about Granite Gear High Visibility Coat:
Jacket seems nice, but like I saw in another review, the "velcro" style closures lost their stickiness after about two weeks of use.

Comments about Granite Gear High Visibility Coat:
I've put this on my dog in all kinds of weather. As a fleece jacket to keep warm on cold nights in a tent. So she can be seen in urban areas at night (reflective stripes glare brightly from all angles). And while playing in the snow (it repels wetness good).
Two things I would suggest:
Change the color to a bright red or blaze orange like hunters use. That's partly why I wanted the jacket in the first place, so that my dog stood out immediately in the woods during fall hunting season, hence "high visibility."
Also I would do something regarding the velcro. While mine still works overall, parts of the stripping don't and it appears the non-functioning is creeping into the good stuff. Granted my jacket has last longer than a year through some harsh stuff and heavy activity, the rest of it is still in good shape-shouldn't the velcro be too?

Comments about Granite Gear High Visibility Coat:
A week ago I would have given this coat a five star rating. However, this week I wouldn't give it one star! It was a great coat, very easy to put on and great for visibility. However, the velcro suddenly will not stick at all. I painstakingly picked out every little dog hair from both sides but the grip did not improve - the coat is now worthless and I need to shop for another one.

Comments about Granite Gear High Visibility Coat:
The overall fit and make of this coat is fine. Unfortunately, the hook and loop fasteners seem to have already worn out and the coat gets loose at times. Replacing the them shouldn't be a big deal - just a bit annoying since the coat was bought 2 months ago. The Ruff Wear K-9 Overcoat is a better design in this regard, but not as snug fitting in the back.

Comments about Granite Gear High Visibility Coat:
I bought a small for my Corgi (about 25 lbs); it fit him perfectly.
The color and reflective strips make it very visible under low light conditions. The coat is easy to put on/take off thanks to the two large velcro straps (one in front, the other around the torso).
I sprayed the coat with Camp Dry when I got it for a bit more water/snow/stain resistance.
Overall, I'm very pleased with this product. It offers both protection from the elements and night time safety reflectance. Also, when I tell my dog "time to put our your coat" he knows it's walk time!

Comments about Granite Gear High Visibility Coat:
I tried this for my dog (35 lbs). Unfortunately, size small was too small, and size medium was too large. However, my son bought a size medium for his dog (45 lbs), and it fits and works perfectly.
It's nice to have substantial reflective piping that can be seen from nearly all angles. The design lacks seams on the top, so water doesn't soak through easily. The velcro stays in place all day long through vigorous activity.
Unfortunately, it lacks attachments for a red blinky light, and doesn't protect the chest much from weather. But for the price/performance it is great, if it fits your dog.
