Comments about Mirrycle Mountain Bike Mirror:
This is the one. It stays put, is very durable and is a great size for riding on the roads. The glass did break when I took a tumble on the pavement but the frame didn't. I will be replacing it with the same model.

Comments about Mirrycle Mountain Bike Mirror:
This is a great little mirror to see what's behind you when riding. I had used it less than two months before the mirror broke off the mirror arm. I had the same issue with mine as comments of 8 Oct 2010 and 12 Oct 2011. Once the screw was tightened into the mirror end of the arm, the mirror arm cracked.
The best thing about purchasing at REI is that their customer service is excellent and they are replacing the mirror. I do not live near a REI store so I could not take it into the store.
I called the manufacturer to report the problem and they said they would replace the mirror arm if it breaks again. I was told the screw is not the problem but the batch that this mirror came from may have had a problem with the composite material from which the mirror arm was made.
I would probably recommend it to a friend especially if the replacement one holds together.

Comments about Mirrycle Mountain Bike Mirror:
I have recenlty made several online purchases and appreciated all of the comments of other users that helped me make the purchasing desicions. I've never provided comments online for a product I have purchased, but I felt compelled to comment on this product because it does what I need it to and it does it well! Prior to buying this product I purchased a cheap bike mirror from a major national retailer. It was only about $7 or so, but it was completely useless. The reviews for this product were great so I figured I would give it a try, I was not disapointed.
The installation is not difficult but it takes a little time. Some of the screws are difficult to install, but that is by design. Two of the screws are screwed into a brass fitting that acts like loctite. It takes a little muscle to get them tight, but it is supposed to be that way. This prevents the screws from losening. After the installation I took a ride around the neighborhood in the dark. I wasn't certain if I would be able to adjust or use the mirror in the dark, but it was not a problem at all. The mirror was easily adjusted and I could easily see the the road behind me.
From the pictures it looked like the mirror might stick out a bit from the handlebar but I didn't think that was the case after I installed it. The connection point on the mirror is offset and I positioned it so the mirror was a little further outbound of the bike. You could rotate it 180 degrees and the mirror would be a little closer to the bike if you need it to be that way.
I've only used it on a short ride so far but it worked so well that I had to write it up. I feel confident that it will do what I need it to do.
The mirror adjusts easily and stays in place. I can see the mirror easily, my hand or arm isn't in the way. I can easily see around my body and behind me. If I bump into something it moves out of adjustment rather than breaking. This is just what I was looking for!

Sturdy mirror that has been reliable for years. Even survived two crashes. It is adjustable and swings out of the way for storage. I wouldn't even bother with other mirrors that may be less money but are rated less clear or breakable. This one lasts for years, you only have to tighten it on occasion with an allen wrench.

Comments about Mirrycle Mountain Bike Mirror:
I've used this model of mirror on my commuter for more than 10,000 miles. I've tried a handful of other mirrors prior to this one. They were all generally unsatisfactory to me in some way - usually wobbling out of place over time. The mountain mirror stays in place, pretty much indefinitely, with proper tension. It is also very durable - if it hits something while riding, it just bends out of the way. I've even dropped the bike on the mirror (accident) once and it was still fine. The other 1 or 2 hard drops did crack the mirror glass (which is replaceable from the manufacturer). My commuter has flatbars. This can be mounted on the end of drop bars too.
The one upgrade in design convenience that i'd appreciate would be a tab for hand tightening of the middle bolt (and perhaps the bar end bolt). This would be very useful for easily retightening the bolt after swiveling the mirror to a safer, out of the way position when the bike is being carried around on racks or in trunks.

Comments about Mirrycle Mountain Bike Mirror:
I use this mirror for my commute. Even with bike lanes, motorists tend not to see bicyclists. Having this mirror attached to my bike has given me a much greater peace of mind as I make my way around town.

Comments about Mirrycle Mountain Bike Mirror:
Plastic cracks when you tighten it up. Called manufacturer for the replacement part. Replaced cracked part and it cracked some where else. Looks like too brittle of plastic was used and insufficient wall thickness. It finally fell of the bike and the glass mirror cracked. Threw the product out! My biggest mistake was not buying at REI for easy return even though price was higher.

Comments about Mirrycle Mountain Bike Mirror:
Picked this up on a whim at the Cary, NC store for use on my commute to work. I've been riding to work for several months & never really thought about having a mirror...never knew what I was missing! No more having to peek over my shoulder! This mirror has made my commute much safer.
Installation was a breeze; I wasn't sure how well this mirror would work with my grips (Ergon GP1) but no problems there. The installation instructions where very clear and very accurate: the screws are TIGHT going into the brass inserts. Very adjustable and seems to hold adjustments well.
Overall a great product!

Comments about Mirrycle Mountain Bike Mirror:
Wasn't sure if this would fit my Dahon D7 folding bike (from REI), but it sure does! It gives me a brilliant, wide view of the whole road behind me, and doesn't wiggle or vibrate. As long as it's tightened properly, it never moves no matter what kind of jaw-breaking bumps I hit; yet it's still easy to adjust while riding.
