The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Topeak Flashstand:
I purchased this stand to hold my road bike while I clean it. No heavy repairs or maintenance, just light cleaning.
It worked fine up until the moment I went into the garage to get a towel to dry the bike. I'm not sure if it was a light breeze or my neighbor waving "hello" a little too vigorously, but I turned around to see my bike falling over, leaving a nice scratch on my brifter.
I returned it the same day and will be saving up for a Park Tool or Feedback repair stand.

Comments about Topeak Flashstand:
I bought this hoping it to be the budget answer for a do-it-yourself commuter. First off, you really need to lock the handlebars straight as a turning front wheel really shifts the stand around. I also found that clamping the front break down helped to prevent some rocking. Any twisting that you apply to the bike is interpreted in some way with this stand, and the whole bike will inevitably move.
I can not recommend this as a primary maintenance stand.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a portable detachable kick-stand.

Comments about Topeak Flashstand:
OK to park a bike on, but too unstable to sustain any work. Plus may not fit some frames.

Comments about Topeak Flashstand:
Stand was too light, hard to setup stable, rubber bumpers fell out before I used it (they provide two extras), will only work on smooth flat floors, stand legs kept folding, bike fell over a couple to times. I was looking for something portable to put in the car but this is not the one. Plus: It has a nice storage bag to put all the pieces back in.

Comments about Topeak Flashstand:
This stand is compact and fairly light weight. It is useable for lightweight road bikes but far too flimsy and unbalanced to be useful for use with a mountain bike. Don't even think about doing any real maintenance on this stand. Will probably return it.

Comments about Topeak Flashstand:
The package says to use with bikes up to 30lbs. My MTB is just that or a hair heavier, and this stand isn't stable enough. I can oil the chain, and maybe adjust the derailleur, but that is about it. I think if the legs were wider, it would be more stable. If you have a light road bike, this would work for you, but not for a heavy MTB, or use on dirt (instead of pavement.)

Comments about Topeak Flashstand:
This is a great product for its intended use - light repairs and travel where you might not be able to bring a full size workstand. It can be tricky to set up correctly and as other reviews note requires a lighter touch but for the size and weight it's very convenient for doing a quick tire change, lube or cleaning.

Comments about Topeak Flashstand:
I bought this stand in hopes to have found a bike stand that wouldn't run me in the hundreds of dollars category. The stand itself is lightweight, and super compact. The stand will not put up with much more weight than the bike offers. So when working on gears or brakes and using the stand, you want to be sure not to apply too much downward pressure on the bike as the stand will flex. But, so far so good.

Comments about Topeak Flashstand:
This is a nice compact stand, but is a bit heavy.
It has a tendancy to tip over or over balance. The little rubber pieces that rest against the bike (for surface protection)tend to fall off during use.
In a pinch, though, it's pretty useful.
