The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Wilderness Trail Bikes Slickasaurus Tire - 26 x 1.5:
I commute 10 miles a day, 95% on streets, 5% on gravel/dirt. I had been using 1.95 width Specialized MassTransit commuter tires that lasted 8,000 miles. First, I freaked out when I put on these very thin width Slickasaurus tires. But I was happy that I could go so fast on them. They also seem to have decent grip in the rain, amazingly. Unfortunately, after two weeks and five flats in quick succession, I gave up on these and returned them. They are paper thin and even the slightest sharp thing (like a piece of a pine cone) go through these tires like butter. I was disappointed that they didn't work out.

These tires were recommended to me for my mountain bike. I'm glad I got them. They are on my commuter mtb...couldn't ask for better. Obviously they are not racing tires, but who's racing to work anyway?...ha ha

Comments about Wilderness Trail Bikes Slickasaurus Tire - 26 x 1.5:
I bought these mostly for commuting (26 miles per day) and I have had one 65 mile charity ride. They were recommended by the guy at REI and I could not be happier. My commute is all paved, but through a few nasty areas. Over 250 miles and not one issue. The traction is amazing (wet or dry) and the cornering is awesome. Overall a great tire for the price. There may be a better tire out there, but this one is fantastic.

I had high hopes for this tire but just could not get the bead of the rear tire to seat properly in the wheel. I had the mech at REI give it a try along w/ another mech at a different LBS. Neither could get the bead to seat properly. I even had the mech at REI true my rear wheel to make sure that was not the problem. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to return these tires.

Comments about Wilderness Trail Bikes Slickasaurus Tire - 26 x 1.5:
I'm not sure why so many people have punctures on these tires, I have never had a flat caused by a puncture using the Slickasaurus after about 2000 miles on them over pavement and gravel. I have had flats, first due to a spoke that was not covered by rim tape and later a blow out when I over inflated after changing the rim (the replacement rim had a looser fit and the bead didn't seat as well so when I inflated to my usual 80psi, it didn't last; it was fine at 70psi on that particular rim). I'd be curious to know if the reviewers who claim low puncture resistance actually had punctures through the tire or if something else was causing the flats.
Anyways, it's a decent tire for pavement and gravel, it's reasonably fast but still sluggish compared to a thinner profile tire on a road bike.
I'd recommend it for a good price, but there are much better options for the same price if you shop around, or just a few dollars more through REI. Personally, I prefer something with a reflective side wall for commuting use.

These tires feel great. Unfortunately they puncture too easily. Great price point for the ride... but exactly that, a price point.

I have never owned a commuting tire that punctured so easily. The smallest piece of glass or thorn will give you a flat. I have had a dry twig the diameter of a pencil penetrate the tread and casing. If you buy a pair of these tires, be sure to purchase several tubes and have a good patch kit and pump handy because you are going to need it nearly ever time you go for a ride on these tires.

Comments about Wilderness Trail Bikes Slickasaurus Tire - 26 x 1.5:
These have worked great for what I've needed them for: riding the few miles between the Caltrain station and work/home. I rode through rain with them and my biggest worry were the ancient brakes on my old college mountain bike. A 700 would likely still be faster, but the mountain bike compactness is great for the multi-mode commute.
