I bought this midweight shirt and it's companion pant last winter season and quickly found myself digging it out of my closet this fall. This long underwear set is an absolutely necessary staple for cold weather activities. I wear it as my first layer on my daily dog walk. It is so comfortable, has been through the wash many dozens of times and still looks like new, keeps me perfectly warm. I miss this shirt when not wearing it, so I am ordering more!

This shirt seems to do it all. As soon as I put it on, I notice the extra warmth - I use it for hiking and walking, as well as for attending hockey games in cold arenas. And yet, there are times when it's not very cold out and I use it just simply as a long-sleeve shirt (rather than a midweight layer), and I never get too warm. I have been very pleased with the REI brand in general across all categories - the items are well-made and are often a bargain for what you get. I highly recommend this shirt.

This is very nice either worn on its own (I wear it running in cooler weather) or as a base layer (for example, when hiking or skiing). The cut is very good and I like the fact that it is fitted, yet has ample room in the upper arms and chest--there's no restriction in movement, yet it does not bag and contribute to bulk. The fabric is very soft, comfortable, and doesn't pill. Recommended!

This works great as a baselayer, but is great on it's own as well. I've worn this top on a 42-mile backpacking trip, and it was very comfortable. It washes easily in a sink and dries quickly for travel. I also use it for running in cool weather. I plan to order more of these in the other colors.
