Comments about WTB Speed V ProGel Saddle - Men's:
I just started cycling, and replaced my bike's stock saddle with this one. Now my butt doesn't hurt anymore.

Comments about WTB Speed V ProGel Saddle - Men's:
I've now used this seat for more than 3000 miles, and I can say I am still very happy with it. I tried 6 different ones, and this is the only one I could live with. At the end of a century ride, I was not in pain - a major accomplishment for me! As others have said, it is not the lightest seat out there, but if you're riding in pain what difference does it make if you have a lighter one? This seat is only showing very minor wear, mostly just the lettering, otherwise it is holding up very well.

Comments about WTB Speed V ProGel Saddle - Men's:
I bought a mountain bike but also bought tires and extra handle bars to use on the road. This seat is much better than the stock seat on my Giant XTC. This seat is fine for mountain biking and is good for short rides on the road 10 miles or less. But if you are going longer distances on the road it is not as comfortable. I don't have much padding when I sit down so I need a comfortable seat to ride long distances.
After riding for 10 or 11 miles the comfort of this seat starts to go down. My seat bones start to hurt and I get a little discomfort where my thigh hits the seat. This seat also makes you sweat a lot even during the winter here. I am going to try and look for a seat that has an air channel after I take this seat back to REI.

Comments about WTB Speed V ProGel Saddle - Men's:
After reading the reviews on this seat, I decided to try one out for my road bike. The seat is a bit on the heavy side, but this does not bother me. The gel padding is nice and comfortable. However, the seat is not made for an aggressive road bike sitting position. It is comfortable for short rides (5 miles) after about the 6th mile, I can feel my sit bones starting to hurt. I completed an uncomfortable 50 mile ride with this seat, but this is my breaking point.
On the plus side, when I ride on my top bar and more upright, the seat feels perfect, but when I go down to my hoods, the seat loses its comfort.
I believe, this seat would make a great mountain bike seat, but I would not recommend it for a road bike.
I upgraded to the WTB Laser V Pro and this saddle works much better for road riding.

Comments about WTB Speed V ProGel Saddle - Men's:
I originally purchased the WTB Pro Gel saddle and had high hopes after reading reviews. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the comfort (i.e. The WTB "love channel" does not cut it) and durability (my brother-in-law had his fall apart on him). I purchased the Respiro Soft A-5130 and could not be happier. The cut out design really relieves pressure from your nether region and the "Royal Gel" is not too soft or hard. The vent design keeps your boys cool. Make the switch...I did!

Comments about WTB Speed V ProGel Saddle - Men's:
Within reason, I am more concerned with the comfort of a saddle than its weight. While there are plenty of lighter saddles out there this is one great All Around saddle. I had one on my road bike and bought a second for my new off road bike. If you are really serious about racing, the weight of this saddle, as compared to a true racing saddle, will be a concern, but the comfort factor cannot be beat. In comparison with some other gel saddles, this one has a solid feel when you sit on it, not that squishy feel. While this may seem contradictory, the ride is truly comfortable.

Comments about WTB Speed V ProGel Saddle - Men's:
Over the years, I have tried several saddles, and this one is by far the best. The padding is just right - enough to be comfortable on long rides, but not so much that the saddle feels "squishy". The saddle is well made, appears to be durable, and has held up perfectly for the first 600 miles.

This seat works great for me. It beats out my factory K2 seat by a long, long shot.
Gel padding is good and after some seat adjustments and positioning I'm very happy with it.

Comments about WTB Speed V ProGel Saddle - Men's:
Choosing a saddle is a personal thing, so it's hard to make specific saddle recommendations for others. However, if this saddle fits you, it's a good choice. The materials and workmanship are excellent for the price.
