This is a good product but will NOT work with single sprocket (cruiser) bikes. With only 1 sprocket, there's not enough flexibility in the chain to move it down into the cleaner.

I have many bikes to keep clean and this works very well to clean the chains. Any solvent will work in it. with the cost of 10 gear chains it pays to keep them clean as they last much longer.

I use this on my "fleet" of bikes and it works great for chain maintenance. Benefits: Cleans really well. I don't think there is any better/faster way to get this dirty job done. Hindrances: It tends to bind up a bit if you don't keep it in the right position and right tension. The handle isn't very ergonomic or provide enough leverage, so I end up holding the cleaner from the bottom. Finally, they don't provide enough of the cleaning solution. Bottom Line: Buy it and your clean chain will thank you.

This was my first chain cleaning tool (recommended by an associate at an REI store). It works effortlessly, though you will want to have something under the bike to catch drips. The see-through construction allows you to monitor its functionality and all the crud coming off your chain. I kept the plastic packaging and use it to store when not in use.
