Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I like this shoe A LOT. I'll be getting another one just as soon as this one wears out (which is a tall order in itself).
only 1 complaint, it's so breathable that water and dust get in through the mesh easier than they do on my pegasus'
everything else is great, lacing, protecting my toe, durability, looks, everything.

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
This season, have been training on some steep downhills, and I kept losing toenails. I went through North Face and Montrail with no success, until I found these shoes. The lace system holds my mid foot securely and the toe box is roomy enough that I finally quit hitting the end of the shoe. The speed laces are really handy in a race, especially if you need to quickly tighten or loosen the laces going up and down steep stuff.
The funky ortholite insoles have two different materials butted against each other that compress at different rates, they quickly gave me blisters on the bottom of my foot and I replaced them with superfeet. Problem solved.
These shoe are meant to let water pass thru unhindered, which is great if you intend to be jumping in and out of streams, but not my favorite on a damp day when I would just rather have dry feet. Generally, my preference is XCR.

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
After a lot of research, I ordered these shoes and the Merrill Overdrives for a week of indoor use. The Saloman's felt considerably more comfortable so I kept them. I have been extremely happy with them and use them about 2 days a week on the rocky trails in Boulder. They provide an incredible platform to take on rocky mountain running trails. You will love them!

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I have owned these shoes for about a year and absolutely love them. I can wear them to work and stand around in them all day, or I can run 2 miles with them on, or hike 20 miles a day with them and they are just as comfortable when I put them on as when I took them off. The insoles that came with them were rather cheap and flimsy, but I replaced them with a pair of green SuperFeet insoles and they are perfect. They are also very easy to clean.

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I've owned 2 pairs of Salomon XA Pro 3Ds and 3 pairs of XA Pro over the last 4 years. They combine slipper type comfort, excellent underfoot protection, wide toe box and great stability and traction. The lacings are easy to adjust during long trail runs and races. I can't speak on sole wear since I rotate 3 pairs of trail shoes during the year. Once a shoe has 350 miles on them they're history. All in all a worthy trail shoe.

These shoes are so good that I purchased two pair. They are super stable and I really like the foot securing system. They stay tight during exercise; no need to worry about them coming untied.

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
After I got these shoes I wore them nearly everyday. I loved them even before I received them. Because I wore them all the time doing all manner of activities, including everything from climbingto lawn mowing, I wore the traction off the bottom. They are highly breathable and dry quickly. Last but not least, stylish enough to wear around town. I am going to buy another pair.

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I have tried many other top quality brands and this one has been the best so far. Extensive use including long trail runs, Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim non stop, canyoning in Zion down through many rappels and cold water swims through the slot canyons. Great shoe no hot spots. Confortable with a load of sand. Lasted for almost a year. Will purchase another pair. Just a note, everyones feet are different so what works for me may not for you but you should always try out other brands and styles.

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I was really excited to try these shoes: a lightweight, highly breathable, rugged trail running shoe. Unfortunately for me, the support I needed was lacking. I got shin splints running in these shoes almost right from the start which was really dissapointing, especially considering they have the high density midsoles that are supposed to help offset pronation.
For that reason alone, I found them to be basically unwearable.

These shoes are good for casual wear and short hikes. My husband did not like these shoes for adventure racing/extended hiking because of the poor arch support.
