This is Great for storing gear quickly on you harness. Whether a quickdraw or a figure 8 it is easy to snap you gear into the gate for storage. One drawback is that Petzl's GriGri does not fit over the wire spring gate. This it a bit slower to remove gear from the Caritool.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    Comments about Petzl Charlet Caritool Ice Screw Holder:

    I use two of these to carry most of my ice screws on my harness during climbing. The inner clip of the Caritool allows it to attach itself securely to the webbing band of the harness. Unlike its competitor, the inner clip is pretty large and deep, so it is more stable. These are strictly for carrying ice screws or other gear; they are not to be used as a carabiner. If you want something more versatile (that can be used as a carabiner and gear clip) then getting a wiregate carabiner will do. Otherwise, these are great since they give way for more room on your gear loop on your harness.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
