The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about REI Merino Wool Light Hiker - Low:
I bought these socks to use more for daily wear than hiking. Now I will be buying more for daily wear and start using them on hikes! Each time I put these on my feet feel like they are saying "Thank you".
These are replacing white socks for daily wear as they are just so comfortable - especially with my Keen sandels. I have never had a wool sock like this before and they exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be buying more. Excellent sock for the money!

I'm a size 10 foot that's on the wide side, and these socks are still too big. I've washed and dried them several times, but they still bunch up in my merrell's. I've used them a half-dozen times, and if I'm doing any kind of big hike w/ 15+ pounds in my pack my feet just start burning in the ball area (the first sign of blisters coming). I just took these on a backpacking trip and had to swith mid-hike to my nasty/stinky smartwool's from the day before b/c I could just feel the blisters coming. I guess it's just me, as these got 4.5 stars from 8 other reviewers, but I'm definitely dissapointed in these socks. I'll still wear them for shorter hikes, but they are no better than the athletic socks I bought from a cheap retail chain. If you want quality buy some smartwool's. I didn't get a blister w/ the smartwool's even though I bushwhacked up steep scree with a 45 pound pack for 4 miles.

These are my favorite socks. Every time I place an order with REI I order a pair. Really comfortable and durable. I haven't had a pair wear out yet and these are pretty much all I wear. The no-seam toe feels really good and I never get blisters with these great socks! Highly recommended!

Comfortable, insulative (warm when you need it, but they won't warm up your feet when working out), durable, and less expensive than SmartWool. What more could you want? The shorter length makes them great for warmer weather and when wearing lower cut shoes or boots. My everyday socks during warmer weather.

These socks are perfect for the Florida panhandle where I live. Comfortable and not too hot, I plan on getting a couple more pair.

I went from the cheap bulk buy cotton tube socks to these about 5 years ago, I still have a couple of the originals I bought but I keep about 15 pairs in rotation. Great comfort and wear, great value for the price. These used to be my special hiking socks but since they keep my feet dry and regulate temperature so well I wear them day in and day out now. At the end of the day my feet are dry and odor free. These socks are incredible!

Comments about REI Merino Wool Light Hiker - Low:
I own multiple pairs of these socks and love them. They have served me well during winter in the Southern and Midwest US. They have been very suitable for: wearing around the house on a chilly day, with my service boots when I crewed an ambulance during the winter, in an academic science lab, and in my chilly winter office. They have minimal bulk and wear great under any shoes that are not extremely tight fitting. I have never put these socks to any recreational use, but for everyday wear, they are warm and comfortable. They will shrink in the wash, so if you have larger feet either buy a bigger size or take care in laundering them.
I like both the crew and ankle lengths, though I find they have different uses.
These socks are warm, all the time. If I goof and wear them on a day which turns out to not be very chilly, I regret it.

Nice socks, comfortable. I wear these over another pair of tighter fitting socks (tekos) when hiking and they slide around a bit but don't seem to bunch up; I haven't got any blisters. They are sized too big so I had to buy a smaller size, I wear a size 13 shoe and at first bought the Large (9-12) and the heel came up above my ankle so I had to exchange for the Mediums (5-8.5). I think they're a bit too light, I'd rather have the heavier ones but they don't make those in a quarter length ankle, I wish they did. Overall it's a decent sock, could be a bit cheaper though.

Comments about REI Merino Wool Light Hiker - Low:
Based on all the commments regarding them being oversized, I ordered a medium even though I am a size 10 on the wide side. They barely fit and I doubt they will fit at all after going through the wash. Ended up giving them to my wife.
But now I missed the sale for myself. I have some of the crew versions, good socks. Probably best deal for the money, but Smartwool is noticeably better if price is no object.

Use these every day and love them. Modest price for wool, great quality and washes well even without special soaps or handling. Recommend buying one size smaller -- this worked great for me. A good buy and after months of everyday use these still give that 'Ahhh' feeling when I put them on in the morning.
