      Once I found these, I tossed all my other longjohns. I have 3 pairs now - they wear well and are warm and durable. I have not had any issues with pilling or wear marks. My oldest pair is 3 years old and still looks as good as new.

      I live in these in the winter when outdoors.

        I own both the top and bottom, and I love them. Beats any other long underwear I have owned. I use them for snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, etc. My set has 50+ days of use and no chafing, itching or pilling. Can't believe previous reviewer had problems with pilling. I wash mine in cold water and hang to dry - never had any trouble.

        These are warm and cozy (I've got the pants and shirt), but I don't get the hype about smartwool. Both their baselayers and socks get super pilled after a few uses, and even though they start out super supple and soft, they get itchy eventually. Everything Smartwool that I own was used for skiing/backpacking a few times and is now used for hanging around town because it just doesn't perform.

          Smart Wool's claim to being the best line of apparel on the planet is no exaggeration! I combined this item with the Midweight Zip top and the Midweight Long-Sleeve Crew for long snow machine rides with the club last winter and stayed very cozy, dry and comfortable. Me and my SMART WOOL made it to the summit of Flattop on Mother's Day too! This year I'm going to treat myself to all 3 pieces in plum heather!

          Whether it be for outdoor adventures (no matter what the season!) or for jaunts around town, I find myself reaching for my SMART WOOL clothing again and again and again! Try it and you'll find yourself saying, 'Yeah Sue--you were right!!'
