Comments about Topeak X15 Cage Adapter:
I bought one of these for my wife's mountain bike. Her bike frame is pretty small so putting a bottle in and out of the cage was very difficult. This little cage adapter lets you twist the bottle cage and gives you easy access to the bottle. Very cool little adapter.

Comments about Topeak X15 Cage Adapter:
I purchased to use with small frame mountain bike. The pivot hinge on this adaptor is so stiff that you cannot rotate it with one hand grabbing the water bottle. This makes it essentially useless. Also, it mounts the cage further away from the frame and the whole contraption (cage plus adaptor) feels wobbly. I returned it.

Comments about Topeak X15 Cage Adapter:
I got this product because I have a size small women's specific performance hybrid (15"). I have a Topeak frame sized pump attached to the top tube so I thought the cage adapter would be convenient. The adapter doesn't come with the screws for you to mount to your pre-drilled water bottle mount holes on your bike but it does come with two screws for you to attach the water bottle cage to the adapter.
Installing this directly to the bike was a breeze; however, installing the water bottle cage to the cage adapter proved to be a bigger challenge. The tiny washers that came with the adapter were hard to keep in place as I installed the water bottle cage. They kept on flying everywhere; the ideal situation is to have someone help you hold the washers and/or screws while you position the water bottle cage and screw it onto the adapter.
Long story short, it didn't work out. My water bottle cage from Topeak (Modula Cage) fit better without the adapter than it did with it. While the pivoting is convenient and great in theory, the actual adapter itself takes up too much space since it is so thick. I couldn't pivot the cage back to its normal position with the adapter on my bike. It had to be constantly pivoted. I ended up removing it and just installing the water bottle cage alone. My water bottle fit in the normal position then.
I wish the product weren't so thick; otherwise, this would be perfect and I could have the flexibility of the pivoting, thus making it more ergonomic. With that said, even if you don't have a small frame, it's nice to have. If I didn't have my frame sized pump on my top tube, it would have also worked...But that's my fault.
