Rock solid great carrier

    Comments about Thule Canoe Carrier:

    Quick four day road trip to paddle. Nine hours each way, running through high wind storms, passing trucks, heavy rains, etc. Rain was so heavy at times the canoe was cutting a wake in the air. Ok, not really, but basically, I put this carrier through about everything short of an ice storm or tornado on this trip, carrying a 17' Wenonah Spirit canoe (lot of bow freeboard if you're not familiar with the design, rough on lateral wind when on the roof, royalex, about 70 lb). The canoe flexed, but never moved a millimeter. I was never worried about the boat shifting or moving in any way, as the rubber they put on the gunwhale rests has just enough tack to it to hold the boat very well. This is a great carrier.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
