Comments about Smith's Two-Step Pocket Sharpener:
Of the five different type of knife sharpeners I have, this is by far my favorite. It sharpens even a dull knife really quick and to a very sharp point. With the 'V' shape to the sharpening, you get both sides sharpened at once and don't have to worry that your knife is at the proper angle. I'm so impressed with it's ease of use as well as the quality of sharpening it does that I'm buying another one.

Comments about Smith's Two-Step Pocket Sharpener:
This is a very nice sharpener. Small enough to fit in a pocket or survival pack and not take up too much space. My dad gave this to me when I went away to college and it has earned its spot in my desk. I use it to sharpen my pocket knives, Leatherman tools, hunting knives, etc. I even used this to put an edge on my 16" dagger that I bring to renaissance fairs. Every blade that I use this on is now extremely sharp. The carbide side will take burs out and is used for general sharpening and the ceramic side is used to finish the edge.
The only downside for me is that it doesn't have a handle. This makes it easier to pack, but if you have a lot of knives to sharpen/put an edge on, keeping a grip on this little thing gets to be a bit much on the thumb and forefinger. Overall, this is a great general purpose sharpener.

Comments about Smith's Two-Step Pocket Sharpener:
One angle is not ideal for all blades, but this sharpener does a nice job for general purpose knives. This tool sharpened a bunch of kitchen knives of different makes quicker than I could do two knives with my usual flat stones. I even used this for a troublesome machete used for garden work. I have not tried it on a hatchet / axe, but as long as the blade will fit the guides, it should do a nice job. The small size and light weight make this a nice companion on any trip.

Comments about Smith's Two-Step Pocket Sharpener:
I have used it to sharpen everything from machetes to dive knives to mini knives. It is small and handy enough to stash almost anywhere, so you have it easily accessible whenever you want it.
It can be a little hard to hold onto if you don't have fingers that are a little nimble. But overall a great and easy to use product.

Comments about Smith's Two-Step Pocket Sharpener:
well its only good to use if your blade is REALLY dull, if you blade still has a good cutting edge, do not use this sharpener because its has actully dulled some of my blades and on my benchmade it not only dulled it but also nicked my blade, use only on your cheaper knives so you wont freak out when they get messed up or dulled.I would recommed getting a sharpening stone instead. Smith brand stones are nice ones.

Comments about Smith's Two-Step Pocket Sharpener:
I have searched the planet for the perfect sharpener for years. I've bought cheap ones, electric one, stone and ceramic ones. This one is the best I have come across so far. I use it camping and I have one for my kitchen knives. It's not the perfect edge, but it's better than anything else I have come across, and I've come across a lot! It gets my knives sharp enough to cut a ripe tomato without squishing it. And the edge stays longer.

Comments about Smith's Two-Step Pocket Sharpener:
Use this sharpener on everything from my machete to kitchen knives. Works quickly and produces a very clean edge. Could use a larger handle area for hand sharpening, but works well when placed on table or counter.
