Broke the first time of use total trash. Purchased for a tire change broke right away. I would be really upset if I were on a ride and needed them.
Simply perfect
Pedros tire levers are the best investment I've made as a cyclist. They are lightweight, inexpensive, and extremely strong. I've used them on everything from 700x23 racing tires to 26x2.35 fatties, and on rims from aero style to vintage steel 3-speed rims. Nothing can beat them in terms of strength or ease-of-use. My only occasion for replacing my original pair was when I misplaced my original set. Highly recommended. I never leave home without them.
Just what the doctor ordered
I've used these on 700's, 29er's & 26. Just what you need, and not too much. They also come in handy if you're bikepacking and forget your spoon. Just take my word on that.
The Best Tire Levers
I've owned tire levers from other brands for the past 7 years, and I concede that this Pedro's Tire Levers are the best according to my preferences and useage style. I previously liked the levers that came bundled with a multi-tool, a case and some tire patches (hint: can be bought from those big box stores) because it gives some flex as I pry the tire casing out of my rim. But after subjecting to about 2 dozen uses, the tip broke. I then bought the tire levers made by a well-known bike tool maker. I like that it's sturdy, enabling me to assert my force against the tire. But it has a narrow neck and its slightly pointed tip pinched a tiny hole on my inner tube as I was putting it into the tire, very similar to that caused by a snakebite. This Pedro's Tire Levers addressed those shortcomings by my other levers. Its wider neck allows better grip and control, and also its wider and flattened tip minimizes the chance of pinching the tube as well as being able to pry out a bigger section of the tire, minimizing the struggle. The color (yellow) is also nicely thought of because it is highly visible if it gets stored together with the other tools in the box. The only downside that I would take note of is its size. Being wider than its competitors, its a bit hard to find a place for it in an already tightly-packed saddle bag. Now I'm anxious as to whether I could get by with just one piece instead of bringing the pair. I've used it so far in my 2 bikes that have 700c x 25 wire beaded tires mounted a clincher wheel. I expect it to perform nicely as well on my MTB's 26" x 1.95" tires. Highly recommended.
Big. Sturdy.
I got sick of breaking the traditional sized levers on my high pressure road bike tires/rims. These Pedros are up to the task. However, they are thicker and are more difficult to slide under the tire bead. But I don't fear breaking them and that's what matters. No more being on the road/trail side with broken levers.
These are the standard.
heavy duty tire levers. You know those new 700C tires that you swear are actually 695C because you are fighting them on? Use these levers. Problem solved.
There is a far better product out there.
Great for MTB/BMX tires but terrible design for road tires. These levers are more durable than most tire levers out there but they are only good for removing tires. For installing tires I assume Pedro's expects the customer to use their bare hands. With road tires this is impossible. If you have a set of road tires or any narrow tires go ahead and buy Crank Brothers speedier levers. I installed a set in about 5 minutes for both with the speedier levers, with pedro's it took nearly 40 minutes to put on just one tire.
Eliminated the headache!
My comfort mountain bike needed a new rear tube and my husband knew basically how to do it. After giving it a try with what he had on hand in the garage rather than buy another specialty tool he asked me to buy a tool specific for this task when I purchased the replacement tube. This tire lever was recommended by the REI staff. It eliminated the headache completely and the job was done in minutes. A great basic tool.
Takes a lot of Abuse
I have used Pedro's levers over the past few years and don't plan to use another brand. These things last a long time, and take an excessive amount of force to begin to crack. The cost and quality of the levers is what makes me a constant user.
Impossible to break
I have mounted nearly every type of tire with these levers and have yet to break one, even when mounting notoriously difficult 2 ply downhill tires on Mavic rims. I have broken nearly all other tire levers at least once, but have yet to break one of these. Excellent product, the only problem is your friends will always try to steal them once they see how superior they are.
