      I have this in white. I wear this shirt as a bicycling jersey over a (white) sports bra most of the year (in California's Central Valley). I find it perfectly acceptable as an outer layer even though it is marketed as a base layer.
      I sunburn easily, so the sunblock property is great! It wicks moisture very well and the sleeves are long enough to come to my wrists, even in 'bicycling posture', which makes me suspect that the sleeves are actually slightly long in cut.
      At first I was not sure about the front zipper and turtleneck style but now I won't do without them. The high neckline keeps my neck from burning and the zipper lets me cool off or warm up as needed.
      I also wear it hiking and backpacking and, although it is a little warmer in that application (no self-propelled breeze), I survived a high-exertion weekend in 70-80 degree weather quite comfortably in this shirt.
      Its polyester fiber is the only reason it does not get 5 stars. Polyester smells quite a bit after sweating in it, but that is something I expect with that particular fiber.

        This is a great shirt for layering over MTS t-shirts or tanks for any outdoor activity as well as great for travel. I would LOVE to buy more but NONE of the recent past & current colors suit me. Many women simply don’t like/don’t look good in “cool” pastel colors (white, pinks, blues, purples etc) or black. Those of us with warm “spring/autumn” skin/hair coloring want/need warm rich colors; red (not cranberry), gold/tan/amber, teal blues/greens etc (current choices are suited for those with cool “summer/winter” skin/hair coloring). So a better variety of color choices (especially photographically good colors) would make this great shirt even better for more of us!

          I love this top. It fits well, hangs on my body well - not tight, but not so loose that it has no shape. Light enough to wear to yoga class, warm enough to wear skate skiing. I am treating myself to another one!

            I've worn this shirt for running, casual wear, and as an over-shirt when kayaking. I bought it mostly for the sun protection for active outdoor use. The fabric is silky and stretchy without being skin-tight, but the design is fitted enough that it is not baggy in the arms or torso.

              This is the best layering tee I've ever purchased...well worth the money, and it lasts forever! I have the mock tee, as well as the v-neck in every color and wear them daily under long or short sleeve tees. The perfect thing to wear when I go out early to feed the horses since it's chilly, but not cold...this tee is perfect!!

                This is a shirt I can count on for 40F-70F weather (you'd want a base layer if it's <40F, or go for the midweight version). It breathes extremely well, never sticks to you yet keeps your skin from going red and dry in colder weather. It is also form-fitting and looks great over jeans for a casual day out. I have no idea how the folks at REI did that but they have made a masterpiece.
