Comments about Headsweats CoolMax Shorty Hat:
This is a great product. Without it sweat runs into your eyes without any resistance. The way the product works is the material it uses absorbs moisture and moves it to the outside of your head as well as spreads the moisture out over a larger area where the wind blowing through your helmet dries the moisture away a lot faster than without it.
The first reviewer must have been using his inside out?? I am here tonight buying my second one. Each one is good for 1 1/2 hours of use, then it becomes to saturated, easier to switch it out than to ring it out.

Comments about Headsweats CoolMax Shorty Hat:
I bought one of these after a few buddies raved about them. It is supposed to keep the sweat out of your eyes. ANYWAY, it traps heat and made me sweat more. Plus, it looks silly, which I typically don't worry about but come on now. My helmet does a good enough job of redirecting sweat so it just ended up being another thing to maintain and make me look sillier than before.
Unless you have major sweat problems or a bald head and are worried about some cool looking helmet vent tan lines, I would skip it.

Comments about Headsweats CoolMax Shorty Hat:
I started using this in place of a bandana when running on the treadmill at my gym and also running outdoors. It works great.I am drenched in sweat as I do my 5 mile runs on the treadmill, and this product kept the sweat out of my eyes. Also, the "tail" in the back does wick moisture away--it was soaked when I finished running. This also works well outdoors in cooler weather. I was running outdoors in 40 degree weather at night, and this kept my head warm, but again kept the sweat out of my eyes. Finally, on a recent 10 mile run in warmer weather (mid 60s) this really was superior to a bandana in two important ways. First, no sweat at all leaked out onto my forehead, as usually happens when my bandana gets drenched. Second, my hair did not get as sweaty, and I did not have to worry about sweat dripping onto my earphones and zapping them. For me the terry cloth band does not fit too tight, is comfortable, and left no red mark after a 90 minute run.I really like this and am going to buy a couple more since I run a lot.[...]This is one size fits all. I usually buy a medium size hat, and this product was not tight on me at all.

I know these were made for cyclists to wear under their helmets, but runners who sweat a lot should buy these! They keep the sweat out of your eyes on trails and the roads. They keep your head nice and cool on hot days and they warm your head on cooler days. Well worth the investment!

Used one of these for almost a year now. I won't go cycling without it. It DOES keep the sweat out of your face and wicks away perspiration. Dries quickly when you take your helmet off. The "pony tail" is functional - sweat wicks away quickly and evaporates at that point at the back of your neck.

I am so glad I purchased this. I used this on a longer bike ride in extremely hot, humid weather. It was the kind of day where the windows are wet and your glasses fog over when you go outside. This cap kept sweat out of my eyes completely. I was 100 percent satisfied.

Comments about Headsweats CoolMax Shorty Hat:
This is marketed for bikers to go under their helment, but I'm a runner and I sweat a lot and it's great to wear under your visor or just as is. It wicks the sweat toward the back of your head and out of your eyes. I wear it outside doing yard work, at the pool to keep my head from getting too much sun and sometimes just out because it looks and feels good.
Two think's I don't like is the "mullet tail" in the back; I pull it up under the cap for now, may cut it off; and the sizing is a hair big for me.

Comments about Headsweats CoolMax Shorty Hat:
I shave my head, so I worry about sun exposure through the vents of my helmet. If I apply sunscreen to my head and don't wear one of these Headsweats, I risk getting both sweat and sunscreen in my eyes, inside my helmet, etc. I wear a white one during the summer months and in hot weather, and I wear a darker one in colder months. I have found that these Headsweats retain their shape pretty well, but like anything made of fabric, after some time, they do start to wear out and stretch, which is why I have purchased several of them over the past 2-3 years. I don't find that they retain a lot of heat on my head, any more than any other head covering made of fabric (bandanna, for example). Like anything else, you have to balance the heat retention potential with sun protection benefit, sweat soaking convenience, wicking potential, et al. For guys like me, without hair and biking in Colorado, Utah and Arizona (mostly), I like them. I have purchased them both at [...] and REI, and I find that the price is the same at both places. Of course with REI, we get a dividend kick-back.

Comments about Headsweats CoolMax Shorty Hat:
I live on the Alabama gulf coast and my first ride it was 92 degrees and about 70 percent humidity. I rode an hour and a half and never had sweat running down my face. The hat soaked it up and kept it out of my eyes. I worried that it would retain heat but since it soaked up water, the constant wind kept my head from getting hot. After my ride, I ordered another one.

Comments about Headsweats CoolMax Shorty Hat:
Used to have lots of problems riding up hills with sweat blinding me. Other products would hold on to the sweat up to a point and then dump it all at once into my eyes, very dangerous! Started wearing these on the Courage Classic a few years ago and have loved them, they work great. I haven't had any problem with sweat in my eyes since then!
