Comments about Terry Liberator Y Gel Saddle - Men's:
This is like a wide version of a hard racing saddle with the cut-out. I've tried the gel and regular versions of the Liberator... and there is no difference at all! Zero. Both were just too hard for me to ride with.
I'm sure it's good for many people, just not for me. I would like to say it's built well, and the top appears to be...... but the rails are irregular on the ones I tried. The rails are 3mm too wide. Terry's response was "well, that happens sometimes in manufacturing" and "have a shop bend them in". Of the hundreds of saddles I've installed and used I never ran across one let alone two saddles with irregular rail widths. There is no excuse for it.
That said.... I'm glad I tried it. The only way to know is try.
-cheers

Comments about Terry Liberator Y Gel Saddle - Men's:
Just purchased my second seat. The seat is a solid and comfortable long distance seat. A screw fell out of the bottom of the first, but it still is holding together. It has nice grooves and breathes well, better than most, perhaps not as soft as a goose but then... when was the last time you sat on a goose?

Comments about Terry Liberator Y Gel Saddle - Men's:
The good: well made saddle, and reasonably light weight.
The bad: this saddle rides like a block of wood.
While I ride several thousand miles per year, I am still looking for the perfect saddle, one that after 80 miles today, I am willing to sit on for 65 more tomorrow. Unfortunately the Terry Liberator Gel is not it, at least for me.
I found the saddle uncomfortable, indeed nearly painful, from the moment I sat down. There was virtually no give in the cushion, despite the claimed gel padding. I felt like I was sitting on a block of wood. I lasted less than 5 minutes on the trainer before I pulled it off and went back to my Fizik Vitesse.
Saddles are highly personal. One you love may make my sit bones scream after 2 miles. For me, this high quality saddle was perhaps the most uncomfortable I have used.

Comments about Terry Liberator Y Gel Saddle - Men's:
I have used this seat for about 4 months now and love it. It is soft, but not too soft, it provides just the right firmness for a comfortable ride. I ride on the road for about 1/2hr 5 days a week, and go for about a 3-4 hour mountain bike ride on the weekends. I have not had any issues with this seat and feels extremely comfortable throughout all of my rides. No numbness, no chaffing, no soarness or bruising.
To be fair, the only previous seat I have used was my standard K2 bicycle seat which was terrible. In comparisson to this previous seat, the Terry Liberator is definitely a 5 star!!
