Comments about Salomon Tech Amphibian Water Shoes - Men's:
These shoes really are awesome. I originally bought them for a trip to the boundary waters but I use them for just bumming around too. They are great for getting in and out of canoes and for climbing trails and rocks. I’ve used them for wakeskating too because of the traction and because they dry out quickly. I’ve had mine for over 3 years now, and I need to buy another pair because they are starting to wear out. Some people have complained about the smell but the shoes don’t create bad smells. Peoples rancid feet and stagnate water create the smell. So if you let them sit around for a few days after they’ve been in the lake then any shoe will begin to reek. Just toss them in the washer with some tech wash and they’ll come out brand new. Buy them, they’re great. They are ment to be abused!

I bought these shoes for whitewater rafting and, although it hasn't happened yet, it is only a matter of time before I lose one. The rear strap loosens when it gets wet and I constantly have to tighten them when I'm on the river. I'm debating whether to buy something else so I don't find myself shoeless in the middle of a trip. Also, these are the smelliest shoes ever.

Comments about Salomon Tech Amphibian Water Shoes - Men's:
I bought a pair of these shoes a few years ago for my trips into the Boundary Waters in Northern Minnesota. They are the best shoe I have ever used up there. They are great for the rocky and muddy portages. I highly recommend these shoes, very much. I have never slipped in these shoes, and I've worn them on some very slippery surfaces. They are excellent for rocky, slippery, slimy, all kinds of surfaces. The best part is, I still have the same pair i bought a few years ago and I have put them through heck. Great Shoes.

I use these shoes as my everyday river running guide shoe. With them, I read and run class V, without, I have total loss of bladder control. They're functionally great except for the river funk smell that builds after weeks of use. Use socks or thin neoprene booties if you wear them for consecutive days because the seams will rub skin raw. Wonderful shoe!!

I love these shoes. WOW! I have had them since I bought my kayak back in 2006. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them physically up to this point. The only problem I am encountering is the smell. When you take them kayaking at the lake, then the beach, then use them to mountain bike and all other sports they get stinky. Normal, but I am trying to find a way to get the smell out. Use socks whenever possible to avoid stinky shoes.

These shoes are awesome! I have backpacked, canoed, gone to work, ran, but especially mountain biked with them. I use BMX pedals and these shoes stick to them like glue. I bought a second pair but my brother took those and I bought a pair for my wife. They go everywhere and do everything.

Very comfortable when I replaced the insoles without arch, with aftermarket insoles with padded-arch. Comfortable because mesh-top puts no pressure on top of your foot, unlike other shoes.
Heel folds flat for use as slippers. Quick tie. Has a pocket in tongue of shoe for holding plastic tie thing, otherwise bangs against your ankle. I cut the plastic thing off and tied knots in end of strings.
Back strap will break after a few months. Salomon needs stronger back strap, maybe with thin wires or the strings like in strapping-tape. Still fine for walking, but not running after strap breaks. Tie strings will break before you wear out the soles. All worth it for me for the comfort.

Comments about Salomon Tech Amphibian Water Shoes - Men's:
This shoe was the perfect fit for a weekend at Lake Louise, AK. The cabin was remote and required a jet boat which often needed a little jump out here and there. This shoe was durable on land and kept me up on the rocks and mud in the water. When on shore I would just set them near the fire to dry out. I do recomend a waterproof sock to keep the sand out of your toes.

When I bought my first pair I went back the next week and bought a second, just to make sure I'd have these in the future. I did have to return one pair, as one of the lace connectors started to fray, but it was quickly and effortlessly replaced. I'm on my third pair and wear them as my everyday shoe, keeping the funkier ones for biking, boating, etc. With Smartsoles, this is the ultimate shoe as far as I'm concerned. My only fear is they'll stop making them.

I used a pair of these on a three day canoe trip in Alaska with the BSA and after the fith portage I was getting hotspots, by the end of the weekend my feet were red and bloody. They are great shoes but it is hard to keep the sand and dirt out.
