Great all season shoes!
I have the women’s version of this shoes and they have always been my favourite shoes! It’s the only pair that doesn’t give me “frozen toes” in the winter from standing outside waiting for bus. I decided to get a pair for my daughter too, who suffers from autism. Cuts down half the time she takes to put her shoes on! She has jumped in the puddles without getting her feet wet. I will be buying her a pair every year, please don’t discontinue them!!

Will last and last
I have small feet and have to buy kids' size shoes and have found that while the adult shoes tout support, they "skimp" on that same quality in their childrens wear. Not wo with these. I bought my pair (gunsmoke) in 2008 and wear them daily for shopping, walking into work (approx 1.5 mi/day), around the house or camping. I applied waterproofing (Penguin unltradry), and they have not stained. Within the last month or so, the lining has started to wear, and I am sad to say that I think my pair have finally walked their last. After more than 3 years of comfortable, supportive walking, it is time for a new pair. So, I expect that my new pair will last until 2013!
Good, but not perfect.
Since I have smallish feet (women's 7), I often get kids' shoes because they're a little cheaper and often come in a better selection of colors. That was the case with my Merrells; I have a kids' pair in huckleberry. The good: These are so comfortable I forget to take them off when I get home. They are reasonably water resistant and warm; I walked about a mile with them in 2 inches of snow, and my feet did not get cold or wet. The color is really pretty -- feminine without being obnoxiously girly -- and wears well. The bad: These shoes have disappointingly poor traction in bad weather (rain or snow), to the point where I'd be hesitant to buy them as a primary pair of shoes for a child. Also, they smell. Not like feet, but like chemicals. I've heard the same complaint from other people who own Merrells. Not sure what can be done about it.
I love these shoes
I am an adult who fits the kids size. I got a pair of these shoes to wear with business casual attire. They were so comfortable, I bought a second pair in a different color and wear them even on the weekend. They are perfect for an office job, church, shopping, walking, with jeans, dress pants, the list goes on and on. They would also be perfect for airline travel; no laces means easy on and off for security, but still comfortable for the walk throughout the airport.
Jungle Mocs for school Uniforms
Comfortable and sturdy shoe. I buy these shoes for my 12 year old son to wear with his Catholic School uniform. They are nice enough to wear with the school uniform and comfortable enough to let him run around the school yard. They are also affordable and last longer than his classmates shoes. Also the natural leather suede holds up well, even through New England winters.
Worth buying if.....
As an adult I have a small foot so always looking for shoes that don't look kiddish with pink and purple or with hearts and stars. This shoe has an adult look. Maybe it is the vanity in me. The shoe is slightly heavy and is not very flexible. Because it does not flex so easily, it feels like it can slip at the heel. I have learned a slightly thicker sock is a better fit with the shoes. A thin sock feels like it can slip. I can deal with it since I do like the look of the shoe. Maybe with time they will break in. I could do without the red strip on the back of the shoe, ehhh... I don't see it. It is worth checking them out if like me with small feet, you want a shoe that is casual for an adult look. True to size.

Keep making these and I'll keep buying them
I've bought these shoes 3 times now and I hope they stay available for me to continue buying them. They are super comfortable and easy to wear because they are slip-ons that are also sturdy and grippy enough to be active in. If I know that I'm going hiking, I wear hiking boots, but these are my daily for everything else because they are so versatile. I've seen a bunch of people wearing them, too. Some people say they are ugly, but I don't care because comfort and practicality is my priority. I'm able to wear kid's sizes and the second pair I bought were a little more narrow, but still completely wearable and comfy. (It's not uncommon for companies to make kids' shoes less sturdy because they figure that kids don't know or will outgrow them quickly).
Great shoes for Active kid
These shoes have been excellent for my son. They're waterproof so his feet hold up much better during recess and the wetter days here in the PNW playing outside. They are easy for him to just slip on and head out the door but offer good support and don't slide around or off when he's running. He spent 8 hours at Comicon wearing these and didn't feel foot fatigue at the end of the day and the same has been for walks on the beach or non technical hikes. Love these and ended up getting a pair for my younger son!
Last longer than my daughter can outgrow
These are the only daily shoes that didn't wear out before my daughter outgrew them. She is very active and wears out holes in any shoes before long. These are really robust. Plus she says they're easy to put on, comfortable, and even pretty (that, I didn't expect.) She's asking me to buy another pair so here we go.
Great shoes
I have twin first grade boys who are tough on shoes. One of my boys has a pair and he loves them. Very durable upper. Sole is solid. I have had to "shoe goo" the sole to keep it going. Lasted about 6 months which is excellent given the wear it has received.
