The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about SmartWool Merino Wool Liner Socks:
My feet thank you.
Fewer stops on the trail to change socks, and no blisters when used with smart wool or REI Marino wool socks

Comments about SmartWool Merino Wool Liner Socks:
I use these liners with Smartwool Hiking socks and they work well when it's cooler out. I think poly liners are better during the summer though.

Comments about SmartWool Merino Wool Liner Socks:
I wear these with my dress & casual shoes in the winter. Haven't had any luck with other SmartWool casual socks - they get stretched out. But these work great, are thin enough and are a little cheaper!

Comments about SmartWool Merino Wool Liner Socks:
I purchased a pair of these socks after reading the reviews. I had never used a sock liner when hiking or running but I was looking for a thin, good wicking, comfortable sock. These are perfect. My feet sweat A LOT and these guys wick wonderfully. Since these are plain black, I realized I could use these as dress socks for work as well as for skiing and cycling. Depending on the outside temperature I either use these alone or slap a pair of SmartWool Expedition/Trekking socks over them. I would not recommend using these alone for long hikes, since they are very thin and not what they are designed for. I have since replaced my entire wardrobe of dress socks and trail running socks with these. They are that good!

Comments about SmartWool Merino Wool Liner Socks:
These are great socks. I use them as liner socks and as everyday socks for work. Most liner socks which claim to have "flat" toe seams don't and I end up with pain and "dents" across my toes. These are really flat and cause no pain even after hundreds of trail miles. I have many pair and they've lasted years of heavy use. I love these socks.

Comments about SmartWool Merino Wool Liner Socks:
These were recommend by a friend; they are the only liners she uses. I tried these as liners and felt a hot spot developing on my heel within a few miles. Had to stop and swap in my coolmax liners; was fine from then on. These feel too coarse for me. I've tried them again walking trails near home to see if it was a fluke, but same thing happened. I can't use these as liners. Did I just get a bad pair...?
By themselves, I love them. With athletic shoes, or even under dress shoes, they are thin and comfortable and wick very well.

I wear these as my everyday socks during the winter around town and to work. They are great worn alone.

Comments about SmartWool Merino Wool Liner Socks:
I originally bought these as liners to help prevent blisters while hiking in a new pair of boots in Yosemite. They did a great job and my feet were thankful I bought them. Since then they have turned into my favorite dress socks and I wear them on a regular basis to the office.
There are 2 primary reasons why I view these as being better than other "dress" socks:
Number one, I wear a size 13 shoe and most socks are sized to fit up to a size 12. This results in the heel and toes wearing out extremely fast. An XL in these puppies fit perfectly and I have no such problems. I have had these for 3+ years and they are still good as new.
The second issue I have with most dress socks is that they stretch out with wear or conversely shrink in the wash. Not the case with any of the Smartwool socks I own (and I have quite a few). These have retained their elasticity and fit and I have absolutely no issues with them falling down.
Overall I am extremely pleased with these socks.

Comments about SmartWool Merino Wool Liner Socks:
I got these to wear alone with dress boots, do to the lack of thin, wool socks available. I wear a women's 6 or a men's 5 (which fits best) shoe and got size small socks. There is too much fabric around the toes. They also seem to be sewn oddly, creating a "corner" of fabric on each side of the toe box. They work fine for what I need, but I don't think I would use them as liners or alone for any extended walking. They did fine when I machine washed and dried them, but I haven't tried to hand wash them yet.

Comments about SmartWool Merino Wool Liner Socks:
I love these liners. They were very comfortable and I plan to wear them as my casual wear socks with clogs as well as hiking. I had trouble with a few other brands bunching up in the toes. These fit snug to the foot and made a great difference in how my boot fit. I thought I needed a larger boot. I just needed the right liners. One request please get the white/off white ones again. The only ones I can get at REI now are black. I hope it's a seasonal thing and the white ones come back. I can use both colors for casual wear.
