by fromBlack dye bled onto my feet I machine washed and dried these liners before wearing them. I was really shocked to find that the black dye bled onto my feet and into my healing blisters. I am lucky that the color did not ruin other items in the wash. I called Smartwool to see if this is a short term problem because I really like the quality of the sock. The rep said he had never heard of this happening before. Hmmmm... I then washed them by hand and set them on a paper towel to dry. Yep, black dye on the paper towel. I am sending them back and I will now try the REI brand wool liner.

by fromBetter Than Cotton, But Fit is Iffy I got these to wear alone with dress boots, do to the lack of thin, wool socks available. I wear a women's 6 or a men's 5 (which fits best) shoe and got size small socks. There is too much fabric around the toes. They also seem to be sewn oddly, creating a "corner" of fabric on each side of the toe box. They work fine for what I need, but I don't think I would use them as liners or alone for any extended walking. They did fine when I machine washed and dried them, but I haven't tried to hand wash them yet.

by fromThin and comfy but they do not stay up They fit my size 13 well but they do fall down and bunch up so I would choose a different sock.

by fromThey're OK.. I really like how i can wear these year round and they feel comfy in any environment thrown at them. I really LOVE how they dont retain odors! No longer am i embarrassed to remove my shoes in others' homes! Wicking properties are excellent, partly because they are so thin. What i dont dig so much is the fact that they rise so dang high on my leg. Its rather annoying. If i pull them down a bit, they bunch up. Really wish theyd make these in ankle cut, then i would be completely sold! All in all, like 'em, dont love 'em. Cannot go wrong for the price though.

by fromGood as a sock, not so much as a liner. These were recommend by a friend; they are the only liners she uses. I tried these as liners and felt a hot spot developing on my heel within a few miles. Had to stop and swap in my coolmax liners; was fine from then on. These feel too coarse for me. I've tried them again walking trails near home to see if it was a fluke, but same thing happened. I can't use these as liners. Did I just get a bad pair...? By themselves, I love them. With athletic shoes, or even under dress shoes, they are thin and comfortable and wick very well.

by fromGood liner I like these liners. They fit well and were comfortable. The only negative thing I can say is that my feet were a bit hot when the weather got hot, but they were great in cold weather. But all in all, I like them a lot.
