REI Members get back an estimated 10% on this item as part of their annual member refund.

    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Rated5out of5byfromGood LinerBought a pair of Smartwool Liner socks, and used them with a midweight wool pair of socks for a cold weather hike. Very please with the comfort, fit, and warmth the socks offered. They also offer the option as a lightweight sock by themselves. And I can pass them off as dress socks too. I had been wearing sythetic liner socks, but decided to give the wool ones a try. I am glad I did. Need to get a couple more pairs.

Rated5out of5byfromI like themFirst I would like to say for me this is luxury (price wise and more) -but I find them comfortable, and worth every penny. and They make them in my size (14) or XL socks are HARD TO FIND at all. I've been wearing them quite a bit this week (I have more than one pair)

Rated5out of5byfromGreat all purpose socksI wear these as socks just about any time I'm wearing pants. I haven't used them as liners yet. They're great boot socks. I wear them with hiking boots, motorcycle boots, cowbow boots, slippers, and dress shoes sometimes. I've never worn a pair of socks that I like better. They're warming in the winter and cooling in the summer, especially with leather boots on. Your feet can get pretty sweaty in these and stay comfortable. And thanks to the real wool, when you take your boots off, the socks dry within minutes on your feet. The wool weave is a bit coarse on the inside, but that's what I like about them. The outside weave is smooth, so the sock stays with your foot and slides against the boot, keeping the friction on your skin to a minimum as your foot moves within the boot. I've worn them on full-day hikes (not rock climbing) with no blistering. I've bought 4 pairs of these socks in 3 years and I've worn them a lot. One pair finally got holes in them from wearing them so much, so I'm replacing them with 2 more pair today.

Rated5out of5byfromGreat productReally great sock. Use it as a cold weather liner. I also use it as a dress sock in the office every day. It makes a great sock for biking. It's very comfortable and regulates both temperature and moisture really well whether it's hot or cold outside. I have not to date had any problems with durability or wear.

Rated5out of5byfromWarm, not bulkyI wear these every day to keep my feet warm. I wear them under other smart wool socks.

Rated3out of5byfromNot my anti-blister liner sockI wear size 11.5 shoes. I got size M and L in these socks--M fit far better. I used these as liner socks for my 4-6 mile workout hikes with 35 llb loaded in my pack. These don't stick to my feet like some other socks--these socks allow my feet to rub against these socks on the soles. They bunch up under the soles. After my walk today, I turned the socks inside out to look at the weave and noticed excessive wear after only about 15 miles. I doubt mine will last long. BTW, the weave seems a bit coarse to work as liner socks for me. I used the Fox River silver socks on the Wonderland Trail without significant problems over 93 miles. They had a finer weave and bunched up less. The Fox River socks stuck to my feetbetter than the Smartwooll but not as well as other synthetic socks. For me, these socks will do for casual wear, but not as liners for loaded walking.
