How to use with Olive Oil or dressing:
The top is designed to dispense individual drops of fluid. If you want to use this for olive oil or other condiments you can carefully drill out the cap to enlarge the opening. I used a 3/32" drill bit. Not a perfect solution but it seems to work so far. The cap still stays sealed for me, but I keep it in a plastic bag anyway just incase.
not for olive oil, definitely dispenses DROPS
i bought this thinking i could use it as a non-messy container for olive oil when traveling. as some other reviews mentioned, the diameter of the hole in the spout is tiny. i suppose that’s why they call it a “Drop-Dispenser.” so if you’re expecting more than small drops of liquid, you’ll be disappointed. however, if you want a container that reliably drops slowly (maybe for vanilla extract or similar), this might work! quality seems good, and lightweight. only potential concern is the top spout cover coming off when it shouldn’t. as an additional point, it required a good deal of effort to get a few drops of oil out of this, thinner liquids might be easier, but in the end, i abandoned this.
Good as bleach dispenser
It is good to use some bleach in your next to last rinse water when washing cookware and utensils in the field. However, bleach can be difficult to carry without leaking and causing a caustic mess as my last little bottle did even though it was in a ziplock bag in a larger bag for cooking stuff. (It was a hotel amenity shampoo bottle.) This Nalgene bottle is much tougher. The dropper top seems secure and is an easy way to dispense the small amounts of bleach needed. It worked well on a recent 2 week trip. For security, I keep it in 2 nested ziplock snack bags.
Just what I needed
Great little bottles for what I want to use them for. I use one for alcohol to use with my stylus cleaner as I only need a drop or two at a time. Yes I still have a turntable with a lot of records. I will use another to put silicone oil in to have around in the shop rather than silicone spray that wastes about 50% of what is sprayed. I found that with a can of silicone spray the pressure runs out before the oil is gone. So I punctured the can and drained out the oil and came up with about a pint of silicone oil that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill.
Dropper Beware
Bought this bottle for hand sanitizer, which is alcohol based but very watery. The 2 oz. size is useful but it really is a dropper bottle so patience is required to get enough liquid. Also, the cap is not reliably tight and may loosen. I bought 4 and some caps seem tighter than others. Bottle works well as long as it’s upright.
Another Earth Day Everyday
These dropper bottles are great storage for daily personal care items. The size and aperature help limit usage consumption. Can you believe I have only used 3 bottles of shampoo and 2.5 bottles of face wash since 2016? It is 2023, and I am using the same amount of hygeine products in 7+ years that I used in one year as a wreckless teenager. I definitely recommend trying new ways to curve consumption. This one is my staple. ...Earth Day everyday!
Not good for oil
Tried this for holding our oil but it came out very slowly in tiny drops. It's not good for oil but maybe something else.
Works great for eye sailne
Use it to keep my contact lens solution. Is a tad smaller than the 2.5oz travel size but gets the job done
The top piece did not stay closed.
I had to use packing tape to keep it closed while not in use.
